What is “traditional Jewish music”? Idk but we’re gonna find out! 😜 I’m thrilled to be part of the opening of Beauty and Ritual: Judaica from the Jewish Museum, New York (@thejewishmuseum ) at the Frist Art Museum. @fristartmuseum This extraordinary exhibition brings together more than 130 Jewish ceremonial objects from across centuries and around the world: objects that live at the intersection of beauty, history, culture, and sacred practice. I’ll open the evening with traditional Jewish music in the Frist’s Grand Lobby, setting the musical stage for the exhibition and the conversation that follows. Feat. @christosmalls on keys and some special guest vocalists! Thursday, October 29 🎶 5:15–6:15 p.m. — Cantor Josh Goldberg and friends | Music in the Grand Lobby 🎨 6:30–7:30 p.m. — Opening Conversation: Beauty and Ritual The conversation features Abigail Rapoport of the Jewish Museum, Trinita Kennedy of the Frist Art Museum, and Frist executive director and CEO Seth Feman. @sethfeman @abigail_rapoport @trinitakennedy There is something powerful about bringing these objects out of the museum case and into conversation with the music, traditions, and communities that have given them life. I’m honored to help give sound to that story. Nashville! It’s me, @ericryananderson. Very excited to invite you to my upcoming photo show, Scrap Country. For twenty years now, I’ve been criss-crossing this country telling stories of musicians, athletes, farmers and everyone in between. And part of the journey has been photographing the to and from, the back roads, the detours… Using my camera as an excuse to get out and wander. For the first time, I’m bringing several of those bodies of work together in one show, Scrap Country. Photographs, books, contact sheets and ephemera from twenty years of wandering. Join us Friday, September 18 and Saturday, September 19 at Sunnyside Projects. We’ll have drinks, snacks and even some photo books, cameras, film and furniture for sale in the back. Come hang! 🤠 2209 Old Hickory Old Hickory TN 37138

Hey Nashville! I’m speaking on a panel at the @fristartmuseum this Sunday and I’m so honored to be part of it. The panel is The Nashville Arts Ecosystem, Then and Now Sunday, April 19 | 3:00–4:00 p.m. | Auditorium Free for members; gallery admission for everyone else First come, first seated If you have time this weekend and haven’t seen the exhibit yet — please go. It’s worth every minute. The conversation moderated by @susan_knowles will be discussing the history of women as arts leaders in Nashville — a legacy that is deeply personal to me. My mother, Nancy, is one of those women, and getting to honor that history in this space means everything along with @carolstein85. We will also cover what is happening today @redarrowgallery and with artists like @adrienneoutlaw who have deep roots in Nashville. The connection to Artville is especially meaningful for this exhibit as we have had the honor of showcasing public art projects over the last three years with @beizaradini @jodihayspainter @kimiaferdowsikline @kitreuther @vadisturner @yaniravissepó — all female artists represented in this exhibit. So many more friends and collaborators are also celebrated here in the exhibit, the catalog, the stories that needed to be told. That’s our arts community in Nashville showing up for each other, and building something lasting together. Come Sunday. Let’s talk about where Nashville has been and why the arts are so central to where we’re going. Hope to see you there!

A girl and her vessels. My ride-or-die @vadisturner and some of her work in the knock-out new show at @fristartmuseum, In Her Place, featuring an all-female cast of Nashville visual artists. I am going to post more about this exceptional show over the next few months (it’s up through April 26). But today I just wanted to send out a very deep and heart-felt thank you to the Frist team — looking at you, @sethfeman and @kdelmez, as well as my birthday twin @laurahutsonhunter — for putting together such a thoughtfully curated and insightful show celebrating our city’s women artists. The galleries are full of the work of ladies I call friends, as well as many, many more artists that I’d like to meet and know better. Despite its very impressive breadth, In Her Place still only includes a fraction of the kick-ass women who have contributed to the history and growth of the local art community, which is the strongest I’ve seen it since I moved to town 22 years ago. I’m really proud of Middle Tennessee’s art community and its mission to support and elevate the work of homegrown talent. This is an important show at a time when representation across the board is critical. Thank you to all who made it happen, and major congratulations to all whose work was featured. You are all stars! #inherplace

Moments from Nashville, captured on 35mm film. 1st image: What can I say about Mike Grimes? He’s one of the first people I met when I moved here over 22 years ago. He’s a family man, an impresario, co-owner of @grimeys, The Basement, @thebasementeast and @lowbarnashville. We were up front and shoulder to shoulder during Metallica’s performance at the Basement back on June 12, 2008. One day a few years back he texted me out of the blue wishing me a happy thanksgiving. I was just alone at home, watching tv and that small gesture indeed made that thanksgiving much happier. Every city and town should have a Mike Grimes. Mike Grimes captured behind the bar of @thebasementnash during the Bebe Buell and Das Damen show. 1604 8th Avenue South. Nashville, TN. 11/8/25. 9:47pm. 3rd image: As a rabid music fan there wasn’t a time I can recall when I didn’t know who Bebe Buell was. I’d see her in Rolling Stone, Creem, Hit Parader, read about her in biographies. Imagine having a song like, “Can We Still Be Friends?” written about you. When I heard she had moved to Nashville in 2013 I said to myself, “Wow, Bebe Buell lives here in Nashville.” So when she invited me to her show at the Basement, it was an honor. She left it all in the stage that night. @realbebebuell and her husband Jimmy Walls performing at the @thebasementnash. 11/8/25. 10:30pm. 3rd image: Would you believe that it’s a challenge to get Edward out of bed? 11/11/25. 3:32pm. 4th image: Did you know that @peabodyshoerepairnash also repairs bags? LV bags await repair at Peabody Shoe Repair. 11/10/25. 10:32am. 5th image: @fristartmuseum Executive Director and CEO Seth Feman commences the Opening Conversation: Paul McCartney Photographs 1963-64 with NPG Curator Rosie Broadley and Frist Art Museum Chief Curator Mark Scala event. Thank you so much for the kind introduction, Seth. 11/7/25. 6:30pm. 6th image: Paper Chevys at @melsdrivein. 11/9/25. 8:08am.
