Some places make you wish you could see them a hundred years ago.

Ha Ha Tonka is one of them. Stone walls open to the sky, empty windows framing the lake, and trees growing around what’s left. I could spend hours here imagining what it once looked like.

If you’re looking for somewhere new to explore in Missouri, keep this one on your list.

Ha Ha Tonka State Park | Camdenton, Missouri
About 3 hours from Kansas City and 3 hours 15 minutes from St. Louis by car, depending on where you start and traffic.

Save this for your next road trip, and tell me what other Missouri places we should explore.

Your next weekend getaway could look like this 🌳✨

A treehouse tucked in the woods, slow mornings on the deck, and evenings around the fire. Diamond S Glamping is just under two hours from Kansas City, with wooded trails and a private lake to explore—such a sweet spot for a little getaway together. 🤎

When I was little,
I used to wonder about the life
I hadn’t lived yet.

Who I would become.
Where I would go.
Who would be there
when all of it became a memory.

And somewhere,
while I was growing up,
you were too.

Under different skies.
In different rooms.
Living days I would never know.

And neither of us knew
that time was quietly carrying us
toward each other.

There were whole years
when we were strangers.

Birthdays we didn’t celebrate together.
Stories we hadn’t heard yet.
Versions of each other
we would only ever know through photographs.

And now, somehow,
I get to marry you.

I get to spend this one life
knowing your heart,
holding your hand,
growing older beside you.

And I don’t think I’ll ever fully understand
how I got so lucky-

to have found you
in a world this big,

and to be loved
by the person
I would choose in every lifetime.
