Four years ago, I walked into TCNJ with big dreams, a lot of uncertainty, and no idea how much this place would change me. Somewhere between the late nights, early classes, clinical observation hours, stress, laughter, friendships, and memories I’ll carry forever, I found exactly where I’m meant to be.

Being an SLP major has challenged me, inspired me, and reminded me every day why I chose this path in the first place: to help people find their voice and feel heard. And now this chapter is coming to an end.

TCNJ gave me so much more than a degree. It gave me lifelong friends, professors who believed in me, experiences that shaped me, and a version of myself I’m so proud of becoming. I’m endlessly grateful for every person who supported me through the highs, lows, and everything in between.

Next stop: Seton Hall University for grad school 💙🤍 One more step closer to becoming a speech-language pathologist. As scary as it is to leave this chapter behind, I know the best is still ahead.

To my A Capella group: Thank you for always being by my side! I am so greatful I got to make music and memories with each and every one of you! I’ll miss singing with you guys🥹

To my friends: Thanks for always having my back! I appreciate everything you guys do for me. The memories I made with all of you will always stick with me! 🥰

To my family: Thanks for all the support you have given me throughout the years. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you guys!

So overall, thank you TCNJ, for 4 unforgettable years. Forever grateful for the memories, the growth, and the people who made this place feel like home! 🎓✨

Behind every great idea, there’s a reason.
For Luisa, it was her brother.
When her brother — a young man with high support needs — was mistreated at his adult program, she knew something had to change.
She decided no other family should ever feel that kind of fear —and set out to redefine what adult services could be.
 The Therapy Garden.
Where adults grow, connect, and belong.
Speech. OT. Real connections. Real purpose.
Approved DDD provider — serving families across Monmouth County, NJ.
Luisa is giving adults what she could never find for her brother.
This is what hope for our adults looks like —
a future built on dignity, purpose, and belonging.

9 things that define what it means to be neuroaffirming

Neuroaffirming isn’t limited to one diagnosis.
It’s for everyone —
dyslexia, ADHD, genetic syndromes, all levels of autism and beyond
1. Redefines the Goal
The goal isn’t compliance —
it’s connection, regulation, and authentic learning.
2. Sees Behavior as Communication
Behavior is a clue, not a crime.
Every action expresses a need,
a sensory state, or a barrier to understanding.
3. Changes the Environment, Not the Person
Spaces and routines are adapted
to meet sensory, emotional, and cognitive needs.
4. Respects Neurodivergent Brains and Bodies
Staff are trained to understand differences
in processing, regulation, and communication.
5. Centers Co-Regulation and Emotional Safety
Teams model calm and empathy —
not control.
6. Teaches Skills that Serve the Individual
Focus on functional, meaningful skills
that enhance quality of life.
7. Trains Teams and Families Together
Shared understanding leads
to lasting support.
8. Upholds Dignity Above All Else
Every interaction says:
You are safe here.
You are respected here.
You are enough.
We highlight compassionate leaders changing lives.
Follow and share to help their impact grow
