🍫 A little decadence for an evening that gives back. ✨

We’re delighted to welcome @bilenasettepani to Sip, Savor & Give NYC, where exceptional flavors bring our community together for a meaningful purpose.

This year, Bilena will share a mini chocolate mousse cake with a rich, velvety texture and a luxuriously creamy chocolate flavor. Delicate, decadent, and perfectly sized for a little indulgence, it’s a sweet moment to savor.

Join us for chef tastings, champagne, and heartfelt connections as we support the children of Las Terrenas through Dominican Joe Kids Foundation.

An evening to celebrate together. A shared goal to work toward: Every Student Sponsored.

SAUCY SAUSAGE
My dear friend Chef Bilena Settepani from Settepani Bakery and I are celebrating Italian American Heritage Month with one of our favorites, Saucy Sausage. We definitely needed something to dip her delicious bread into today.
Sausage, sweet peppers and onions, cooked in stages to build flavor, then brought together with white wine, tomatoes and Sicilian oregano. A rich sauce with sweetness and a little acidity. Toasted bread, good vino, and we couldn’t be happier.
INGREDIENTS
6–8 sweet Italian sausages, cut into thirds or fourths
10 mini sweet peppers, halved, stems removed
2 yellow onions, cut into thick wedges
2–3 garlic cloves, smashed
1 tsp wild Sicilian or regular fennel seeds
Crushed red pepper and Sicilian oregano, to taste
Extra virgin olive oil
Sea salt and black pepper
¾ cup white wine
2 small cans cherry tomatoes, with juices
Grated Pecorino
Fresh basil or parsley, optional
Toasted bread and your favorite wine
METHOD

1. Heat oven to 425°F. In a large ovenproof pan, brown the sausage in extra virgin olive oil. Remove and set aside.
2. Add peppers, onions, garlic, fennel seeds and crushed red pepper. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook until softened and lightly browned.
3. Take the pan off the heat, add wine, then return to the heat. Scrape up the browned bits and reduce slightly.
4. Add tomatoes, their juices and oregano. Return sausage and any collected juices to the pan. Stir together.
5. Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring if needed, until the sausage is cooked through and the sauce is bubbling and rich.
6. Finish with plenty of grated Pecorino and basil or parsley, if you like. Toast your bread, tear it apart and dip it in. Serve with your favorite glass of wine.

Found a new spot for breakfast @settepaniharlem
Settepani brings Italian flavor to Lenox Avenue, with pastries, brunch, and a setting that invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Sitting outside, taking in the rhythm of Harlem over breakfast that’s a little luxury right in the neighborhood. Good style, a beautiful plate, and the city moving around you. That’s the Settepani mood.

I survived a ruptured brain aneurysm. For many survivors, the hidden danger doesn’t stop after the initial emergency. 💔

🧠September is Brain Aneurysm Awareness Month, and I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Teresa Sanchez at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her team is testing an innovative new therapy designed to shield brain blood vessels from post-rupture damage and give survivors a much better quality of life.

✨Teresa is the recipient of the 2026 Sharon Epperson Chair of Research, a $10,000 grant from the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.

🔬Since 2018, my family and I have been on a critical mission, helping fund over $100,000 in research grants. This year, the Foundation is making its largest annual investment ever—funding 18 groundbreaking projects totaling $650,000!

I am deeply honored to help advance discoveries that will truly change lives.
