We came, we saw, @samwillhalm and I covered like a thousand miles by car and experienced one undeniable fact: Texas loves good whiskey and knows how to show up. From stores, suppliers, groups, customers, friends old and new and fans statewide it was an incredible week in Texas as we poured Provenance and The Reveries everywhere that would have us. To everyone who took the time to meet, you’re a gem. We loved it. For anyone who wants this whiskey in your glass and on your shelf, @thevioletteconnection distributes us, @small.victories.imports supports us and I’m a plane ride away with dread in my bag. Until next time, Texas! Time to get me a Grackle.

THIS SOUTH AUSTIN DISTILLER MAY HAVE BUILT THE IDEAL 3RD DATE SPOT 🥃

@stillatx has come a LONG way from its beginnings as a father-son whiskey project to this beautiful space at @stillatxquarter 💪

Founded in 2015, the South Austin distillery has grown into a legit Texas whiskey powerhouse, built around a grain-to-glass approach using 100%

Texas-grown grains and bottles like its flagship bourbon, The Musician.

Now they’re taking that same ambition way beyond the juice.

I got an early look inside The Still Austin Quarter, a new 15,000-square-foot hospitality venue built around four distinct spaces: The Atrium, Vinyl Lounge, Music Room and a private event space. Altogether, it’ll hold around 500 people, including 125 outdoor seats.

And walking through it, the press release doesn’t really convey how substantial this place feels.

Each space has its own bar, each has a different personality, and it feels less like somebody expanded a tasting room and more like Still Austin built several different places to hang under one roof.

The cocktail program naturally centers around Still Austin spirits, but they’re going deeper with house-made aperitifs, amaros and herbal liqueurs, plus beer, wine, rotating library pours and limited releases.

Then there’s the music 🤟

The dedicated Music Room was engineered for sound by acoustician Steven Durr, whose work includes facilities for Willie Nelson, Austin City Limits and the Library of Congress. The plan is live music from local and national acts Thursday through Saturday, with a DJ taking over the Vinyl Lounge nightly.

More than anything, this build shows how far Still Austin has come 🧐 and that they can execute at a pretty damn high level on more than what goes in the bottle.

The Quarter was originally anticipated to open in September, and they’re still polishing up a few things before officially opening the doors, so keep an eye out for updates.
