Finally posting these incredible real film camera photos Severin took of me after graduation. I found this magic spot my first day on campus and it remained my special place for 3 years.

Fujifilm 400 film for minolta x370 and ektar h35n half frame. Black and white photos from 1950's Ansco Titan.

12th foto was a neat double exposure, you can see me with diploma and Austin skyline over each other if ya look close.

🎪✨ What are we planning?

Behind the scenes, we’re putting together our next Spark Circus project, running from November to March.

Over the coming months we’ll be:
🎪 Bringing circus workshops to refugee and migrant communities
🤹‍♀️ Running shows, workshops and creative activities
✨ Developing our Stardust Circus School in Mae Sot
🌱 Creating more opportunities for young people to learn, perform and build confidence
🤝 Working with local organisations and community partners
🎭 Bringing together an international team of circus artists and facilitators

It takes a lot of moving parts to make a circus project happen — and right now we’re busy getting all those plates spinning!

Applications to join the project will open in October.
For now, keep watching this space… 🎪✨

This past Saturday, I performed my very first solo show.

The community response has left me feeling Loved,
supported, and grateful.

Buíochas.

It means, "Gratitude."

Stepping into the spotlight in this way felt vulnerable...
...scary...
...exciting.

It required a lot of trust in my own Art;
in my own presence; in my glorious, creative community!

This was a trust fall of the highest order and you all caught me.

Thank you.

Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for witnessing me.
Thank you for inspiring me; for holding space, literally and metaphorically.

The first step has been taken and it is ever forward, ever upward from here!

Henceforth, I promise to honor my power as a leader and collaborator with whimsy, Love,
and always, Buíochas.

Curating the Double Eternity art retrospective, on the 40th anniversary of my mother, Maggie Cook Polacheck’s death, was one of the biggest things I’ve ever accomplished in my life — both logistically and emotionally.

It was so much work, so much fun, so profound, and I have never been more proud of anything I’ve ever done — this exhibition and gathering were pure magic.

There is no way I could have pulled it off without massive amounts of support and love from my community, and I am forever grateful for everyone and everything coming together to make it happen so seamlessly.

Maggie’s retrospective was like opening a time capsule at an Irish wake, with an old time string band playing.

Old timers sipped spritzes and tapped their feet in time to the banjo, and babies danced in the arms of adoring aunties.

It was sitting shiva for three days, with a glimmering mixture of laughter and tears, wonder and delight — the flowers of grief placed on an altar of love.

Flashes of heartfelt conversations have been replaying in my mind ever since — with countless sweet and moving moments, joy and tear-filled eyes, happy surprises, and so many people coming out of all the nooks and crannies of Austin (and beyond!) to be present for me and for Maggie, and to see her body of work in its full expression.

We had a beautiful turnout for all three days (plus all the magic of installing the show, and taking it down), with an incredible convergence of beautiful people coming through Blackfeather Gallery and Vintage / @blackfeathervintageworks

Folks came out from as far afield as Santa Fe, El Paso, Waco, Stephenville, San Marcos, Pontotoc, San Antonio, and Maggie’s hometown of Llano and Lone Grove for the experience!

It was a very multi-generational gathering, with many elders (including all of Maggie’s 3 siblings — my uncles and aunt, and their children and grandchildren!) and so many adorable babies and kiddos, plus lots of doggies and one special kitty — which I know would have made my mom (a big-time animal lover) very pleased.

A ✨glimmer 👁️orb into the deep creative forest fae whimsy that is @oregoncountryfair where we were blessed to become transmythical creatures made with love by @animalcrackerconspiracy with our 13’ unicrabiseahorsicorn 🦄🦀 giant puppet, 2 walking stilt pheonix/chicken/zebra/wolf horned-winged ones and the beloved wooden deer, Humanimal, operated by the 3-orbed sparkle puppeteers!
I love the goofy joy, big curiosity, wide-eyes, colorful inspiration, fantastical fun, deep awe and creative exuberance we partook in with everyone we met! 🤩✨🙌🥰🫶💖
