📖 I have a design featured in a book.
If you’ve been here for some time, you know how much these heart ornaments mean to me.

There are 12 of them and so many of you have stitched them, gifted them, and made them part of your own stories 💚

When this opportunity came, I knew I wanted to create something special.

🪡 So I designed a 13th heart an exclusive one, just for this collaboration.

Not just because it’s in a book, but because books have always felt like a place where learning lives on, where ideas are shared and passed forward in a more meaningful way.

And now, somehow, a small part of my work lives there too. The book brings together 18 designs from 12 different artists, each with their own unique style. And seeing artists I’ve admired for years inside these pages makes it feel even more meaningful.

If you’ve stitched the hearts before this one is a continuation of that story.

If you’re curious, I’ve left the link to the book in my bio.

If you choose to get it through my link, I may receive a small percentage at no extra cost to you.

No pressure, just wanted to share this special moment with you.
💚

Embroidery patterns: AI or not AI?

As most of you noticed, in the past few months there has been a huge increase in AI generated embroidery pictures on Etsy and Pinterest, and many of them are used to sell embroidery patterns. Because this is still relatively new, I find many people are not confident enough in telling the difference, so this post is to try to educate on how to spot them and know what makes an image likely to be AI generated.
Most of these AI generated patterns are not patterns at all, but barely an outline, with no instructions, no colour suggestions, no info of any kind. This can potentially be problematic for different reasons: as obviously these take no time or real effort to make, someone can make dozens of “patterns” a day, putting them at an incredible low price that is out of competition and saturating the search in marketplaces such as Etsy, so real artists are drown down and not seen. Also, these images, because they are not real, rise the expectations for us real artists in a way that is not realistically obtainable. Then there is also the conversation about how these AI generators scan real images and real embroideries, so they literally take parts of already existing pieces of art.
Also, please don’t take this as “absolutely do not buy them”, but more as “be sure you know WHAT you are buying”. Remember, knowledge is power.
