Cat’s out of the bag 👀 I spontaneously stepped on stage ONE FINAL TIME before retiring from natural bodybuilding forever!!

I had fully intended to retire from competing in natural bodybuilding after competing in three separate natural bodybuilding competitions all across the country in November of last year.

But then an opportunity arose that felt like a sign from God that I was meant to compete one final time before putting this phase of life behind me once and for all.

Namely, my cousin’s wedding was set to begin at 2:30pm on February 14 in Houston.

And lo and behold, there was going to be a natural bodybuilding competition IN HOUSTON from 10am-1pm on the exact same day.

The opportunity felt too perfect not to take it. From that moment, I had 5 weeks to get in the new best shape of my life.

I shredded down to the leanest physique I’ve ever sculpted in my life. As measured/verified by DEXA scan, every single upper body muscle group got down to sub-5% body fat.

I could hardly believe my eyes at the physique I’d built, but it was an incredible validation of the work I’d put in and the rigorous application of the scientific literature that went into making this physique possible.

I not only showed up in the best shape of my life aesthetically, I was by far the leanest and most conditioned of anyone on stage that day.

I firmly believe that I should have won my pro card that day (something I didn’t say after any of my previous competitions). But for whatever reason, the judges didn’t award me title.

And though I wish I’d won my natural pro card, I’m content that I didn’t. Because I did everything humanly possible to win, and there isn’t a single thing I could’ve or would’ve done differently.

The journey to the stage was far more about the person I became through the process than the subjective outcome of 4 judges. I lived life like a pro athlete for over a year, and I’m dang proud of the man I’ve become through that journey.

To every single person who has supported me throughout this journey, especially those who came out to be there with me in person, I feel so beyond blessed and grateful to have you in my life. Love to each and every one of you ❤️

Today is the final day of my 20s. I am unbelievably proud of the man I’ve become, and the community I surround myself with.

29 has been the best year of my life to date for many reasons, but mainly because of the people, the experiences, and the personal growth.

I experienced the most consistent happiness, fulfillment, and health that I’ve ever experienced because of pouring my time and energy into everything I love most in this life.

I got to spend time with family over holidays.

I got to see friends get married and celebrate babies on the way.

I hosted game nights that brought friends together for nights filled with laughter.

I worked out with friends regularly.

I went to run club nearly every week.

I spontaneously competed in and won my first ever bodybuilding competition, did it alongside one of my best friends, and subsequently went all-in on my pursuit of my pro card.

I went into business with one of my best friends.

I connected with incredible people at VidCon, VidSummit, the Arnold, and the Olympia.

I performed in improv shows and did improv jams, classes, and rehearsals nearly every week.

I attended Mass nearly every Sunday and became even more devout in my Catholic faith.

Every year on the night before my birthday, I reflect on the previous year and set an intention for the next year.

This year’s intention is to make the most of all 24 hours of every day of the year, with an unwavering emphasis on happiness, fulfillment, and health.

I remembered during Mass this morning that they always ask if anyone has a birthday in the upcoming week, and mine is tomorrow, so it was finally my week to stand up 😂

But realizing I’m entering a “new year of life” motivated me to finally knock out the things I’ve been pushing off so I could go into this new year with a clean slate / clear plate 🙌🏼

Yesterday, I batch-filmed 9 videos all in one sitting that I’d been putting off for months.

And then today, I knocked out behind-the-scenes work that I’d also been putting off for months.

Now I’m primed to enter into the NEW best year of my life 😎

Thank you God for the life you have blessed me with!!🙏🏼 Day 1 of Age 30 beginning tomorrow 🙌🏼💪🏼🤝

IM WIGGIN OUT, BROTHERRRR 🥴

I’m a firm believer that themed parties are superior to non-themed parties. It requires that every single person put in a bit more thought and intentionality behind what they wear to the party, and it provides an auto-ice-breaker to everyone who hasn’t met yet.

And because of how silly it makes us all look, it allows us to let our guard down around each other and be that much more open and vulnerable with strangers and friends alike.

And for me as an actor, it allows me to feel like I’m in character 😂 I had wayyyy too much fun playing a red neck with a mullet named Chet. 10/10 would recommend.

I’m super grateful for these peeps because they’ve transitioned from gym friends to outside-of-gym friends :’)

There’s nothing wrong with gym friends, and I love seeing homies at the gym on the daily. But there’s something especially special about friends that permeate beyond the gym environment and into the “real world”.

The gym crowd I surround myself with is naturally super positive and uplifting, so to be around that outside of the gym is really dope and a huge validation of the efforts we’ve all put into our lives to attract likeminded people.

One of the best parts about gym friends is that they naturally share so many similarities lifestyle qualities and values, especially as it pertains to health, fitness, personal development/pursuit of self-betterment, and the daily pursuit of goals.

A gym junkie inherently knows that their results are a direct product of the efforts they put in day in and day out, both inside and outside of the gym.

So it’s a no-brainer to vibe with fellow gym junkies both in and out of the gym, both in and out of our wigs 😂

Told everyone to wear a wig… and they understood the assignment.
Feeling so loved stepping into 23 💕
Grateful for the friends who show up for me…and in wigs.

I WENT BACK TO ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A SINGLE WEEK @kansushi_austin 🤤😂

One of the craziest and most unique parts about this all you can eat (AYCE) experience is that it’s literally got AYCE sushi AND AYCE KBBQ under one roof @gen_austintx!

So whether your heart desires a carb load of sushi or a protein load of BBQ, your heart’s desire can be fulfilled 😂

Kan Sushi is my favorite for the AYCE sushi because sushi is easily in my top 3 favorite types of food (alongside Thai and Mediterranean 🤤).

Last weekend I took 6 homies to experience Kan for the first time, and this weekend I took another 5 friends for their first time haha spreading the AYCE gospel one Austinite at a time lol

The entire menu is incredible, but by far my top 10 favorite items on the menu are:

1) Kan Salmon sushi (beet-soaked sashimi salmon over sushi rice AKA nigiri)

2) Scallops nigiri (scallops sashimi over sushi rice AKAK nigiri)

3) Salmon kama (fully cooked salmon collar - probably the most tender and flavorful cut of salmon you’ve ever had)

4) Cucumber salad (it’s got this umami flavor to it that’s just to die for)

5) Salmon sashimi (some of the most tender salmon sashimi I’ve ever had)

6) Shooting Star Roll (assorted fish and avocado sushi roll with a ponzu sauce on top)

7) After Rain Roll (super similar to a rainbow roll, assorted fish and avocado and imitation crab sushi roll)

8) Dragon Roll (shrimp tempura roll with a perfectly sweet sauce on top)

9) Inari with eel (Fried tofu skin with rice, cooked eel, and eel sauce)

10) Tamago sushi (cooked sweet egg omelette on top of sushi rice AKA nigiri)

I had all of that and probably 20-30 other menu items 😂 in total, I consumed 4,759kcals in a single meal.

Normally, I’d never consume that many calories in a single day, let alone in a single meal. But since I’m still in my post-competition recovery diet phase, I’m currently consumed 5,174kcals per day.

So what better way to hit my calories than with AYCE sushi shared with friends 😂

On the real though, you gotta check out Kan Sushi in Austin!! I had it for the first time in Hawaii, so I was STOKED when I found out they were coming to Austin 😍
