A little more listening. A little more understanding. 💛 On 10 October, WAK & Talk, Kuching! brought the community together at Tropics City for conversations in conjunction with World Mental Health Day 2026. Through Her Voice, Still Here and Tiny Talks, we explored the many roles women carry, personal experiences of recovery and hope, and the connections between children, families and older generations. Thank you to our speakers, moderators, organisers, partners and everyone who joined us. Whether you came to share or simply to listen, thank you for being part of these conversations. Here’s a look back at the day and a reminder to keep making space for one another, beyond World Mental Health Day. #wakandtalkkuching #worldmentalhealthday2026 #wakfestival2026 #mentalhealthmatters

💬✨ HER VOICE — Session 1 of 3 ✨💬 Real Conversations on Women’s Mental Health Work. Family. Caregiving. Expectations. The list of roles women carry doesn’t really end — and most of it happens quietly, in the background 💛 This World Mental Health Day, two working mothers sit down for an honest conversation about what that’s actually like. No lecture, no expert panel talking at you. Just real stories from everyday life in Kuching 🫶 What we’ll talk about: 💗 The many roles women carry 🩵 What makes asking for help difficult 💜 What real support from families and workplaces looks like Moderated by Miss Chan Wan Xin, Registered Counsellor 🎤 📅 Saturday, 10 October 2026 ⏰ 11:20 AM – 12:20 PM 📍 Tropics City, Kuching 🎟️ Free entry Bring your mum. Bring your sister. Bring the friend who always asks how everyone else is doing but never gets asked back 💐 Supporting mental health begins with a space to be heard. Most of us never find out — because we don’t ask, and they’ve learnt not to say 🤍 This session is a conversation with people who have been there. Not a case study, not a diagnosis read out loud. Just their own words, in their own time. What we’ll talk about: 🩵 The person beyond the diagnosis 💙 What made reaching out difficult 💜 What recovery, dignity and hope look like Moderated by Dr Azizah binti Saie, Vice Chairman, MHAS Kuching Branch 🎤 📅 Saturday, 10 October 2026 ⏰ 1:20 PM – 2:10 PM 📍 Tropics City, Kuching 🎟️ Free entry You’re welcome to come just to listen.
