I have a big surf contest we need to leave town for but when a friend needs help…the waves have got to wait!

Helping a friend while she’s at cancer treatment by cleaning her house and doing the yardwork. I love our homeschool community! Many hands made light work today!

Praying for you, @sfla_surf

You can donate to help through her GoFundMe! Link is in my bio⬆️⬆️⬆️

Meet my friend, Sandy. @sfla_surf I’ll be surfing for her at the @thompsonbrotherclassic on August 29th to bring awareness to her cancer battle. She’s a pillar in our surf community🏄🏼‍♀️🌊

Read her story and consider donating to the GoFundMe. Link is in my bio ⬆️⬆️⬆️

Sandy Raue is a dear friend, an angel of a grandmother, a Christ follower, and a pillar of a woman in the South Florida surf community. She worked for @quiksilver for 19 years but was laid off last year while simultaneously receiving a cancer diagnosis.

If you know Sandy, she didn’t skip a beat during cancer treatment last year (not surprisingly!). She was taking her grandsons, Zack (11) and Alex (7), who she cares for full time and on her own, to their beloved Kung Fu; homeschooling them; going on camping trips to their annual airshow festival; weekly skate park meetups; and beach and surf sessions.

However, all has changed as she just received news that the cancer has spread, is stage 4, and is inoperable. She is undergoing treatment yet again and needs our prayers, along with practical and financial help. She continues to raise her grandsons on her own. Her treatment plan, along with the aggressive nature of the cancer, has required her to stop any kind of work.

Sandy is a private person, so it’s taken much humility and trust in her Heavenly Father to allow us to share a bit of her story. She has spent the last 2 decades pouring into the surf community. She has immersed herself in the younger generation of homeschool moms and blessed us with her wisdom in our community. She is a dedicated grandmother.

Let’s show her how community bands together and can look after her after she has given so much of her time to the next generation and for our good. No financial gift is too small. If we all help a little, it adds up to a lot. Thank you for caring.
