One Month Down, Forever to Go! 🤎💍✨

One month ago today, we said “I DO!” 🥹🤍

It’s hard to believe a whole month has passed since one of the most beautiful days of our lives. From the early planning stages, countless decisions, excitement, stressful moments, and everything in between, seeing our vision come to life on September 12th made it all worth it!

As we celebrate our first month of marriage, we want to give our flowers to everyone who helped make our day so special. 🌸

There were dinosaurs. There were donuts. There were dance moves that I had never seen before. There was laughter. There were improv exercises during the ceremony. But most importantly, there was love and joy, and a peace that THIS wedding celebration was uniquely Amanda and Phillip and all of their awesomeness ❤️ congrats my friends, soooo grateful to have been a part of it!

On March 27th, I walked away from my last full-time salaried role. I’ve changed directions before — but this is the first time I’m betting entirely on myself. Sink, swim, tread water, flail, dive. It’s ALL me. 😅

I’ve been a travel advisor since 2018, building this alongside a career in tech — roles I loved — but that never quite had room for curiosity, or space to chase something that felt fully mine. (And no matter how flexible the setup, there was always that low hum of anxiety, just one Slack ping away.)

So. Here we are — officially, fully, no-going-back self-employed in the work I actually love: travel advising, planning, booking, guiding, writing. Full send.

Last week I went to my first industry events as a fully self-employed person — and at some point realized I was mentally matching suppliers I’d *just met* to clients BEFORE I’d finished shaking their hand. Like my instincts had already been here for years and were just waiting for my head and my heart to catch up.

I’ve been navigating an anxiety disorder since 2008 and clinical depression since 2017. This week my psychiatrist told me that for the first time since she started working with me, I scored a 1 on both questionnaires — the lowest I’ve ever had. 🥲 It doesn’t mean building this business isn’t scary. It just means *this* kind of scared feels different. Like something I can work with.

In 2017, @themeparkette offhandedly said to me, “I feel like you could plan people’s Disney trips and somehow get paid for it.” Neither one of us could’ve known then what she was sparking for me. And @sarah.runs.away — thank you for bringing me on, for encouraging me to grow, for reaffirming that I could do this full time if I wanted to, and for never once making me feel pressured to get there before I was ready. That kind of belief is an incredible gift.

To the clients who’ve become friends, and friends who’ve become clients — THANK YOU for letting me in and trusting me with your trips. I don’t take lightly what it means to be a part of the memories you’re making.

One month in, many more ahead. Grateful, scared, and SO READY. ✨
