Urban Beat Project began as a YouTube channel in October 2011 — one of the few independently run music platforms at the time. Back then, the market wasn’t quite ready to experiment, but I needed a space to share some of my musical ideas. I was producing music, jamming with friends, and had started curating ensembles for shows, and often found myself in the company of extraordinary musicians from around the world. I feel grateful for the music I’ve experienced over the years, from unknown talent in remote villages to legendary artists who’ve shaped entire genres. These moments nurtured my deep belief in the power of musical collaboration. They taught me that music isn’t just something we make. It’s something we share, something we feel together. That spirit continues to guide and inspire everything I create today. Some of the best music, I believe, emerges from moments of spontaneity, when artists come together to play without a fixed plan. @urbanbeatproject became my way of documenting that process: raw, real, and unrehearsed. It also became a way to bring people and ideas together that felt conceptually organic. Every track and video is rooted in collective expression. Nothing forced. Just a shared space where magic could unfold naturally. … This particular video just happened as we were touring India with the brilliantly talented ensemble – @dubfx11 @kilafaux and @maheshvinayakram It was shot at my parent’s terrace by the talented @sha_aze in one single take. Link to the channel in my bio.
