“There’s always gonna be another mountain, I’m always gonna wanna make it move” — because this entire summer has been about growing, evolving, and keeping on climbing.

A month into camp, I realized I had somehow gotten into a routine of doing my job on autopilot and letting my tiredness take over my excitement. Creativity and enthusiasm didn’t come as easily to me as they did at the start, and it affected me deeply.

Knowing I only had one half left of this crazy experience, I set myself a new goal: say yes more to things I might have said no to in the beginning, and make the most of every moment at camp, in spite of the challenges along the way.

I went on the zip line and did Migdal for the first time, learned how to film with a GoPro and do multi-camera editing, signed up for Shabbatot on my own to meet new people, played and sang in front of fellow counselors, and obvs ate my weight in donuts and sushi — because what are calories in America anyway?

🍩🌙🏕️🔥🧗🏻‍♀️🚌🍣💌

This summer, I learned to push myself farther, get out of my comfort zone, and try new things a little more every day. I learned to overcome fear and anxiety in a way I never could have before. I created memories I will cherish for life with total strangers I now call friends. And somehow, most importantly, I learned anew just how great the Jewish people’s strength — our strength — truly is. It was amazing to see how different we all are — Israelis, Americans, hilonim, dati’im — but in the end, one thing remains the same: our Jewish identity.✡️

I am incredibly grateful for the meaningful and respectful conversations exchanged on religion, service and many more subjects I hold close to my heart. I am grateful for the opportunities and the amazing people who surrounded me and brought out the best in me, even when I couldn’t bring it out myself. Thank you for helping me achieve the many goals I had set for myself before and throughout the summer.

Thank you for an Alifut Kayitz. ❤️‍🩹
