What happens after presentations?

Thru a lot of time spent thinking & conversing - we have come to the decision to discontinue and shut down the SLC Showcase. September and October has been cancelled & we will be turning our Winner’s Circle Show in November into a farewell celebration to go out with one last BANG!
It is a bittersweet thing - we are going to miss every single memory from these shows. However, we have built such strong connections with all of you that we are only excited for what the future of our scene, community and local art holds!

We love our community so much and are eternally grateful for everything that has come from the 8 years of this showcase, OUR Showcase. Everyone who has performed here, everyone who has showcased their art and brands here, every family member and friend that just showed up to support and have a good time with friends. We met on a weeknight after a long ass day of work and we all STILL owned the night and made it ours together.

Thank you to all of the sponsors we have had over the many years we’ve been doing this, there’s too many to name or even remember but you definitely know who you are and we love ya!

Thank you to the @hivemindedstudios team for being down with us all this time and having our backs and making these awesome memories with us while providing an amazing opportunity for free studio time at your incredible studio. We love you Dustin & Slap!

Thanks to Shades on State for providing the hospitality the last few years and shout out to our old stomping grounds at Good Grammar (now known as SLC Pub)

This is definitely not the end of our involvement with helping the community, helping local artists and businesses, and organizing sick shows! We will always be here to help our people grow and thrive! Just gonna be doing it a little differently now.

We love and thank each and every one of you.

Talk to me Tuesday 📚🚲
My pick: Eyeing Brewsday Ride with @sweetstreets_slc

Hump day, but make it weird. 🥋✂️
Craft with @crappycrafters.slc at @wasatch_coop, catch Jackie Chan with @kungfutheater_slc @brewvies or go full girls’ night with Thunder From Down Under. Pick your fighter.

Thirsty Thursday 🍻🎬
My pick: Art Garten on Main Street with @theblocksslc featuring @edisonbusslc Beer garden + downtown hangs wins this one for me. Or keep it wholesome with Cinema Club at @woodbineslc

Friday understood the assignment. 💃✨
My pick: Joy in Rhythm with @hothousewest_ at the @slcgallivancenter one last summer night of live jazz + swing dancing. Then wander the Post District Night Market next to @melancholyslc for local vendors, eats + flash tattoo

Salty Saturday ☀️🎶
My pick: @krclradio Day in the Park at the International Peace Gardens. Five local acts + art, food, vendors and plenty for the kiddos—all FREE

For dinner grab @thankyoufortheshortnotice take on Mex-Tex featuring tunes from @ryancondrick @melancholyslc

Soul Food Sunday 🛍️🎻
Market hop between @churchandstate1893 and @woodbineslc hit the @slcpunkrockflea market, then close out the weekend with Who Framed Roger Rabbit at @properbrewingco.

What did I miss? 👀
Drop your weekend plans below + SAVE THIS POST for later.
Small Lake City—we’re all connected + better when we’re creating together.
