FAIRY BANQUET @shadow_traffic brought Seelie Court shenanigans to Prospect Park as a part of their Cryptid Safari. We love to bring the Otherworld to you, whimsy where you least expect it. You may have seen us down by the water with many a refreshing drink and snack… if you dared to shirk the warnings. So appreciate to my fellow fae @kelvindalymusicalinstruments the bard and @amberishcelestial the harpist for their valuable contributions. 💛✨🩵❄️

Guess whose baaaaaack, it’s Ooga! Here to drag more willing volunteers down to the depths of Prospect Park pond. My DM’s are open, please reach out if you’d like to be sacrificed to the swamp monster gods 🥰 Thank you @shamaldeare for the incredible photos, credit to all the photos in this carousel goes to him! You captured Ooga beautifully 💚 The mask and hats are made of EVA foam, charcoal, acrylic, brass, recycled paper, and probably some other things I can’t remember right now lol. #assantesobelstudios #caseysobel #performanceart #costume #shadowtraffic

Sauntered through Prospect Park, perused around the jawns. On a safari in search of New York’s most finest cryptids. Though some proved to be too elusive for the camerAAAAAAHHHH IT WAS COMING RIGHT AT ME! Some of the last images found on the photographer’s camera, the body has yet to be found. What creatures live in the deep woods of Prospect Park? It’s Ooga! Your friendly neighborhood creature from the deep! Ooga, short for Ooga Booga, is your classic alluring lake monster, part bug, part lizard, part fish, all sass. She comes on land to flirt with the trees before dragging some sacrifices down to the depths of the lake (consensually, of course). Would you like to volunteer as tribute? Please reach out in the comments and Ooga will be happy to oblige! Ooga would also like to give you a friendly reminder that hey, her eyes are down there! 👀 The Cryptid Safari hosted by @shadow_traffic this past weekend was a total success, so much fun, and the weather was divine, thank you for everyone who came through! The mask is made of EVA foam, charcoal, acrylic paint, and bronze. If you’re looking for a creature mask of your very own for a costume party, Comic-Con or the like, reach out via my website, linked in my bio 😘 #assantesobelstudios #caseysobel #costume #art #nyc

Your daily dose of whimsy: this past Saturday I had the pleasure of going on a "cryptid safari" around Prospect Park, organized by @shadow_traffic. I tracked down a range of strange creatures, from a tribe of Taco Bell-obsessed Chalupacabras to the enigmatic Overdoom whose flapping wings were formed from book pages. So much artistry, creativity, and utter silliness was enough to nourish the soul for quite some time! Plus, it was hilarious seeing regular park-goers react to stumbling upon a fairy feast or a towering cyclops in the middle of their afternoon stroll.

“... culture revolves around permission,” writes @samligeti on @shadow_traffic’s Competitive Winter Picknicking at Herbert Von King. “Permission to be silly in front of other adults. Permission to share food and games with strangers. Permission to show up with full, earnest energy.” 📸 by @arenotphotos Link to article in bio! #bedstuy #clown

Spring is in the air today, yet my mind returns to our cozy Clown Slumber Party Winter Picnic, where the only warm was to be found in comfy cuddle piles, hot coco, and the hearts of our friends! And, of course, the heat of battle in the pillow fight! Hard to believe just one week ago the ground was covered in snow. Thanks again to all the clowns that came through to join us last week for such an incredible day! Truly we proved to be the Sleepiest Subs in Brooklyn. 😴 🤡 🎪 💤 If you’re in these pics and I forgot to tag you hmu! So many new friends came through!!! 📸: @arenotphotos Slides 1, 3, 4, 8, and 9 Slide 7 by @comet.the.clown #clown #competitivewinterpicnicking #brooklyn #snowday #slumberparty

On Saturday, February 28th, another edition of Competitive Winter Picnicking took place at Herbert Von King Park in Brooklyn. Teams gathered on the somewhat warm winter day to be judged on their themes, food, drinks, and games. Swipe through for a few favorite photos shot for @shadow_traffic! This was my sixth year attending and can’t until the next one ❄️🧺🏆
