QOTD: What is your favorite trope that you love to see in books?

Good morning my fellow bookdragons! A little while ago I featured Fallen's First by @kcdcwrites here on my Instagram. Now, in cooperation with @mtmctours I bring you Oath Breaker!

If trusting in love again wasn’t terrifying enough, try it while the Devil watches. After cleaving one of two supernatural oaths to the Devil who made him, Saer has run into countless dead ends hunting for a way to sunder the other. Disillusioned, he sinks into humanity’s hollow pleasures but at the cost of his fiery strength, vigilance…and freedom

Oath Breaker is the second book in the Sins of the Maker series, a Dark Romantasy that is out now from Shadow Spark Publishing!

Add it to your TBR if you love:
🖤Dual-POV romantasy…with a demon
🔥“Mine”
🖤The Devil is hawt and somehow more unhinged
🔥Forced proximity
🖤Pining & Banter
🔥Vampires? Vampires.
🖤Shadow magic
🔥Second chance (at???) romance
🖤He controls Pride *and* Lust
🔥Dragons too? DRAGONS TOO!
🖤Literal centuries of agonizing slow burn

Well, its been a little over a year since I faded from SM, but I'm back today to annouce that between now and 3-5 business days The Zodiac Series is getting new and much improved covers (cause my old art is... not good)

So if you like:

The Awkward "bad boy" Prince who isn't sure who he's meant to be but definitely doesn't want to be his father's son.
The Sheltered girl who is just figuring out the difference between love and lust
The muscular teddy bear who is the best brother/adoptive dad he can be
The fiesty red-headed shopkeep who doesn't take shit from anyone
The over-stressed through her own faults axe-wielding badass who definitely needs to learn to let go

ReBirth: Zodiac Book One

Threads of gold, ancient and dangerous, pull them together; a bond neither can deny.

🔥Romantic Fantasy
💖Star-Crossed lovers
😈Insidious villains
⚔️Fast-paced action
❤️‍🔥Final Fantasy with actual romance

Then maybe it will be for you.

The Shadow King bows to no one.

Except his beloved, Akasha.

For this years anthology, V, it's all glory to the villains. So, what better time to get in some much needed page dedication to my own villain ☺️

The Shadow King has two forms; one he hides from everyone.
Only Akasha can see his true self or utter his real name.

Their love is deep, but problematic, crumbling from the inside out.

If you want to know more about him, check out book 1, Desiccate, and my short story, The God Who Wasn't.

Because who doesn't love a good #shadowdaddy

🎉🎉🎉🎉 It's happening!! (*screams in Michael Scott*) 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I've been working on my epic, elemental fantasy baby since 2019. It's come a very long way since that initial draft and I love what it's become and what these characters mean to me.

Tomorrow, Dessicate releases into the wild thanks to the amazing @shadowsparkpub who showed interest and waited for me to get my shit together to submit to them. There's no telling where this book would be without the unwavering support of the House and my House Siblings.

To celebrate, I'm sharing some fan reactions from those who have had the pleasure of reading it.

It would mean the world to me if you could like, share, comment, and save (you know, ALL the things 🤣) and help spread the word.

Thank you all and I hope you enjoy!!

If you want to snag a signed copy and get some swag, check out my website.

I can't believe it!

In 19 days, 18 sleeps, Desiccate will be officially released into the wild 🥰🥰🥰

This has been my baby since I started it in 2019 and has changed so much from that first initial draft. So many people have helped me along the way, making this story the very best it can be and I'm *so* thankful for it.

And while it releases in 19 days, you can pre-order now! I have signed and unsigned boxes, signed and unsigned singles.

Head on over to my website, www.loreleimatthews.com or directly to my shop, https://lorelei-matthews.square.site/ (both links in my bio)

So if you like:

🧌epic fantasy
🌏unique world building
🌊🔥🌏💨elemental magic systems
🤍👑morally complex rulers
👨‍👨‍👧‍👦found family dynamics
👭🙎‍♂love triangles (real ones)
chosen-one narratives with emotional stakes
trauma → identity → power arcs

You're going to love Desiccate

Writing banter between Amaranth and Sprite brings me joy.

Although, he *did* leave her. It was to keep her safe. But our girl does not care 🤣

~*~*~*~*~*~

“But otherwise, you’re fine?”

“Yeah, I think so.”

She punched me in the arm a second time. “If you ever leave me behind again, I will kill you. Do you understand me?”
