What an honor it was to pay tribute to a Gospel music legend, our hometown hero, Sir Richard Smallwood (@smallrich) for @legendsofthesong’s “Night of Gospel Covers”! Richard’s music will forever hold a special place in our hearts! We wouldn’t be who we are today if we hadn’t studied his work with Vision and The Richard Smallwood Singers growing up! Thank you for everything Richard Smallwood! Ever since we can remember, the melodies and harmonies of Richard Smallwood (@smallrich) have played an integral role in each of our lives. As kids, our mother and grandmother would play Richard Smallwood songs in their cars during our many rides together, and the three of us would study the harmonies on songs like “What He’s Done For Me,” “His Mercy Endureth Forever,” “I Will Sing Praises,” “Angels,” our parent’s wedding song, “I Give You Praise,” and of course, the song you hear us singing in these clips, “Your Love Divine.” Richard’s brilliance helped lay the groundwork for how we process music, and although we never got the chance to thank him in person, we are so grateful to have been able to feel the warmth of God’s love through every note that he composed. Richard, you will forever be our hometown hero. Thank you for everything that you have given our family. We love you forever.❤️🕊️
