LA - whenever you end up at the new downtown venue @pacificelectric.la (which is hopefully soon), I want you say to yourself something along the lines of, “so this is the place that Dawes kicked off/unveiled/ripped/etc.”

Thanks to all our fans who joined us for the inaugural party. We’re honored to have been the band to take the stage on its maiden voyage. Launched by our old buddy Ben Lovett from Mumford & Sons and TVG Hospitality. Hope to be back soon!

I’ve been working on something special and the time has finally come to share it with everyone. Please meet, Shared Noise Music Supervision!

Through my company, Shared Noise, I have been independently supervising projects, specializing in music for film & TV. This week, I am headed to SXSW to celebrate the premiere of two (!!) films I music supervised: @basicthefilm directed by @chelseadevantez, and @dragthemovie directed by @ravivullman & @_yagolnitzer.

Follow along in this next chapter of musical collaboration with @sharednoise 🎶🎧🎬✨ I’m so excited to continue the journey of learning how music shapes our individual identities and transforms our personal connections when shared.

Such an amazing time last weekend in my hometown for the world premiere of my new film, “M.R.I. (or, Michael Returns Indefinitely)”, at this year’s @lafilmprize. We came away with a Top 5 finish, alongside an incredible group of films, including this year’s winner, the wonderful “Last Minute” from @whiskeycatproductions. A huge thanks to fellow MRI producers @alexanderjeffery, @gaynanettebeach, @brittfallow & @himmie1010, as well as @emilyalthaus and the rest of our incredible local cast and crew for coming together to make this happen 🙏🏻

I’ve been telling any filmmaker friends that will listen for the last few years to consider filming their short films in Louisiana for @prizefest. It’s such an incredible opportunity, and the community that @gregorykberg and his team have been building for over a decade is truly special to be a part of. There’s nothing like it as far as audience engagement, and the creative connection it fosters among the filmmakers and mentor judges is unmatched.

A huge congratulations to all the other filmmakers. I had such a wonderful time meeting you all and watching your wonderful films, and I can’t wait to see what everyone does next!

And another big THANK YOU to all the film fans, friends and family that came out to support, and to everyone involved in putting on the Louisiana Film Prize and making it such an incredible event, year after year. Viva!!!

Where it all began.

Celebrating our engagement where we first met, with friends and family, was truly special.

Thank you to everyone who was there and those who were there in spirit. It was a night I’ll always remember.

Can’t wait for what’s next…

Thrilled to announce that my latest short film, “M.R.I. (or, Michael Returns Indefinitely)” has been accepted as a Top 20 Finalist to compete in this year’s @lafilmprize next month. I made a film for @prizefest in 2022, and the experience changed my life. There’s truly nothing like it, and this year they’ve added the ‘Oscar-Qualifying’ badge of honor for the lucky winner.

Thanks to producer and DP @alexanderjeffery and @brittfallow I had the good fortune of pulling together an all-star crew of super talented local Shreveport filmmakers who poured everything they had into this crazy idea. Huge thanks as well to my old pal and fellow producer @himmie1010 , whose incredible editing work takes the film to another level, as always. And the biggest thanks of all to my sis and producer extraordinaire @gaynanettebeach for pulling so many strings in town to make this happen, and for making it all so easy and fun along the way.

And an even bigger thanks to our Executive Producer, Nanette Schneider Beach, who also happens to be my mom, and is the reason we all got to make something so special ❤️

And it wouldn’t have been possible without some of my favorite people executive producing alongside her, including my love @emilyalthaus and some of my best pals in the world @regharg , @jelord9, Chris Harding & Jules Claassen. A huge thanks to all of them for putting their faith in me.

And to the incredibly talented Louisiana cast & crew that we assembled, thank you so much for helping me realize this crazy little vision.

I can’t wait to share the film with you all and with Shreveport audiences at the Film Prize in October!!!

Poster design by @alexanderjeffery because, of course he does that too!!!
