Creating Worlds: The Disney and 20th Century Studios Cinematic Art of Dylan Cole | Titan Books | 2025. Hello there! How’s it going? In today’s post I’ll show you a very, very special item from my collection that I’m so proud to own. This is a signed copy of the fantastic recent book by @dylancoleart and, as you can see, this one is dedicated to me! This was a gift from my Hawaiian brother @shane.short , who got it signed for me at the world premiere of Fire and Ash in Hollywood! You can see Shane and Dylan in the photos while he signs my book! I had the opportunity to meet Dylan in person in 2024 and get a signed postcard from him, but this one is way more special. It’s one of my favorite items in my collection, not only because it was a gift from a very special person, but also because it’s dedicated to me. The book itself is a literal masterpiece. It features most of Dylan’s work, from Avatar to Tron, Maleficent, and Alita, and explores the entire creative process behind his work. I totally recommend getting this book if you’re a fan of Avatar and concept art in general! I’d like to take a moment to thank Shane for his generosity and for being such a fantastic person and friend, and Dylan for all of his hard work, which has given us the opportunity to witness these incredible masterpieces. None of this would have been possible without his talent. So, thank you both! 💙 A treasure from my collection! What do you think of it? Let me know in the comments! 🤌🏻🫴🏻💙 • • • • • • #avatar #avatarthewayofwater #avatarfireandash #jamescameron #disney

Shane Short saw “The Odyssey” as Nolan intended, in its IMAX 70 mm format. He took it a step farther, and saw the movie 8 times back-to-back. But to do so, he had to embark on an odyssey of his own, traveling to California to see the film on a “true” IMAX screen, of which there are less than 50 worldwide. ➡️Read more at KHON2.com #localnews #hawaii #theodyssey #film #christophernolan

Me encantó y me hizo reír muchísimo.

🐓 Rest in Aloha handsome Goober 🐓 My heart has been aching over the #konalowstorm that my entire feed is Hawai’i focused following updates and the many ways on how to help and the very important “please refrain from.. instructions” - a permanent verified link 🔗 has been placed in my bio for critical ongoing disaster relief needs. Please help if you can. During this difficult time I can’t help but burst into tears 😭 thinking of Hawai’i. Among the storm updates I happened to also learn both Ares (my forever loved 🌶️ pal) and Goober (photos above taken by @nomadic.nadia from one of my weekly volunteer shifts during the 😷) had both crossed the rainbow bridge. 🌈💔 I have been worried about the safety and loss of everything and ALL. When I began volunteering at @alohaanimalsanctuary in 2020 little did I know the impact it would leave on my life. During my weekly shifts, volunteer training, private tours, special events, many fostering experiences (foster mom/aunty to Stevie 🐐, Ducklee and Eve 🦆🦆, all of quails and Sushi 🐗), @sofarhawaii events to general asks I would often say the sanctuary was just as much a sanctuary for those who volunteered as it was for the residents. Six years of loving I confidently can say I have best friends that are 🦆 🐑 🐐 🐓 🐈 🐽 🐗 🦃. These photos were taken shortly after my father passed and my bffs - one being Goober 🐓 although physically blind saw me, held space for me many times. He was a gentle giant a resident I always introduced folks to on the tours I led as his size sometimes was perceived as intimidating. He enjoyed companionship from his other special needs 🐓, loved cuddles during feeding and with other 🐓 pals. I am glad he was held with aloha in his final moments. Truly wish I could have been there. 🫂 Grieving over Hawai’i but extremely grateful to all the animal, bird, special needs heroes who make sure ALL have a voice and are not forgotten or overlooked daily but especially in times of crisis. 🤟🏽🩶 #lavendarorpington #blindrooster #rescuerooster #hawaii

The Bride: “Revenge is never a straight line.”

When the passion for Dylan Cole’s art and Avatar meet 💙🤩 Proud to have his incredible art everywhere in our collection. Both Sophie and I deeply admire Dylan’s work. Concept art is easily among the top things I love most about Avatar, and this book in particular feels like living a dream with open eyes. Having a personal dedication in our copies makes everything even more special. Thank you to Dylan Cole (@dylancoleart) for an inspiring event at Gnomon! It was an amazing night diving into two decades of worldbuilding on such films as Avatar, The Lord of the Rings and Maleficent, and celebrating the opening of his gallery exhibition and book release.
