split is officially out in the world and i would be remiss if i did not thank @wxpnfm. this song would not be what it is (and would not be at all!) if it weren’t for last year’s 24-hr song challenge and the generosity of those who voted for it. we did it! aaahh!

so thank you to my all-time favorite radio station in my all-time favorite city :) and thank you to every single person who supported this song when it was just a little baby live demo called “rat food”.

✨𝗪𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐒𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝✨ ⁣
Still processing, but I know myself well enough that if I don’t do it now, I may never do it at all soooo… For someone as emotional as I am, I really don’t cry very often when I’m in a show. It’s only happened twice in the 13 years I’ve been doing theater. RENT is number three, but it’s the first one where I’ve cried not just because of the show, and the storyline, and what it actually all stands for, but because of all the amazing people I’m leaving behind. Every show we do is this insane moment in time. We’ll all cross paths again (hopefully) but the chance of being with the exact same group of people all together again on stage is a special gift you don’t typically get back a second time. This one meant a lot.⁣
⁣
On a personal note, I’ve felt a little lost in theater lately. When I began, it was like I discovered this little microcosm of the world that finally made me feel like I belonged, and in recent years, it’s slowly made me feel anything but that. T&C is where I found that; where it all began, and Rent has been a full circle moment that gave me a glimpse of that feeling again. So thank you to all of the amazing people who made this show experience everything I couldn’t have imagine it might be. You will all always have a special place in my heart. ⁣

my love letter to Angel Dunmott Schunard ..

when I was younger, Angel was my dream role when it came to RENT. a role I never thought would be possible for me, but here I am. Little ol bigender me got to be the heart, the light, the soul of such a beautiful story and was surrounded by nothing but the most superb talents of all time. In times like these, we need shows like RENT and I am honored to have been able to embody this character for this production. I could go on and on about the history of this show and its symbolism but for now, have this. I will forever be grateful & this IS my family.
