If you scroll down further on my #Oligoamory landing page (http://www.oligoamory.org/gb/), a start template will appear bearing the heading “Soultribe”, which serves, in a sense, as the gateway to my bLog, introducing it with the enigmatic words: “This is the bLog of the expedition that researches and describes the remote island of ‘Oligoamory’. Whoever or whatever comes across these pages is invited to share in the reflections and insights this venture is set to uncover".

The photo for the “Soultribe” board features a magnificent image from the collection of the English photographer Shane Rounce – who also makes many of his works freely available on the photo platform unsplash.com (https://unsplash.com/de/@shanerounce).

As in my main header image, six people are depicted here – but this time only their hands are visible. And very much like the variety of cups in the image from the last post, the hands also make it clear above all that these are different people, who may be of any gender, age or talent.
To me, the photo particularly emphasises the sense of belonging and the team spirit that is so crucial to successful ethical multi-partner relationships.
In this case, the tree that the participants are touching in the picture represents, for me, identification with the shared endeavour, a bond of loyalty to one another, and integrity towards shared values.
In this respect, the tree also serves once again to represent the theme of “together we create something greater than ourselves” – which, strictly speaking, is also a metaphor for my blog, which I hope will generate added value that goes beyond the many words I have written.

As it is usually easier for users of my website to find the blog via the “Blog” tab at the top of the homepage, only keen visitors to my page will come across this section here – yet the image Shane has created is actually one of my favourites from the whole project.

I got the new flatface x blistered collab G4's in white marble.

These things are incredible!

So smooth, so soft with the perfect level of grip for optimum realism.

Couldn't recommend them enough!

Time will tell for sure but so far I'm putting these as my all time favorites.

The G4 is a perfect wheel shape, tie that in with the urethane and you have a long lasting wheel that can be used on all surfaces.

In grad school, I wrote a paper regarding social support and the black church. Honestly, I had no business writing about the black church but I needed a specific topic 🤷🏾‍♀️. Anyway, after research, the conclusion for my paper was as follows.

Social support networks create an indirect resource that enables community members to receive coping skills and guidance that later result in positive health outcomes. It has been noted that religion and religious social support provide protective factors that act as tool that assist in overcoming psychosocial challenges that are experienced in the black community. Inversely, it was noted that reduced social support acts as a risk factor in the increase of negative mental health outcomes.

Upon reflection, this conclusion can be generalized to everyone. We all need strong social support networks in family, friends, religious groups etc. to not only survive but to thrive. Creating community is an essential tool in the foundation of our best lives. #damiocean #socialsupport
