wow… the Lord is so so good !

I am in awe of Him after spending a week in Jaco, Costa Rica. I could say a million good things about what God did this past week! We were able to see how the Lord has been moving in the past few years, and how He has been working through the city of Jaco. We saw ministries growing, like La Finca de Esperanza (the church’s rehab and discipleship school). We saw the feeding ministry running out of people to feed on the streets. And, we saw countless of people being changed by the gospel of Christ in Costa Rica.

For example, on Friday, we helped run a 5k and a 10k race for the men in La Finca and I was stationed at a gatorade station on the beach. A guy, who is in the rehab program, pointed to the beach and said, “This is where I used to sleep….. and look at me now.” What an impactful representation of the power of the gospel!!! He not only had the physical strength to run a 5k in the humidity of Jaco, but he also had the mental strength to run in the exact place he used to sleep…. all because of Christ. All of us working at that station were brought to tears.

The Lord has worked so much through me too. I was attacked by wild monkeys, bit by sea lice, and almost passed out, but I wouldn’t have traded this experience for anything else. Whether that is through growing my heart towards the people of Jaco, teaching me that I am safe when outside of my comfort zone, or even just through strengthening my leadership skills and my friendships with others, the Lord has grown me sooo much. He taught me how to view others as my equal, and as my brother or sister in Christ. He taught me how to have fun when I am facing my fears (I zip-lined with an incredibly bad fear of heights). And, He taught me how to lead others better and how to connect with more people. And that’s just a snippet of what God did!

I can’t wait to see how He will use this past week for His glory. His hands are over the hearts of the people in Jaco, and His hands are over the hearts of us too.

Still soaking in the sweetest morning celebrating baby Thomas 🤍☕️
From the lattes and pastries to every thoughtful detail, it all felt like a dream, but what made it truly unforgettable was the people. Every hug, every conversation, every person who showed up meant more than I can put into words.
We are so grateful for the love that already surrounds our little family. It is so special to see our baby so loved already. 🥹

in a time when our world is so divided we got to see one of the most beautiful displays of unity this weekend at episode! over 1000 students from more than a dozen churches in lynchburg gathered together for a weekend of FUN & WORSHIP!

only God could’ve done that!

thank you Jesus for the front row seat to watch how you are moving in this generation!
