My due date was Halloween, but I came out early cuz I wanted to be dressed up for it. I was destined from a young age to be an unholy emissary for an expanded spooky season. This years compilation of original Halloween songs is my biggest and most visionary yet, and I’m so grateful for all the collaborators that made it happen. Go commandeer the aux at your costume parties, cemetery hangs, witch’s gatherings and vampire’s balls and teach the world the ways of HOMIEWEEN!

no story part today! i’ve been enjoying them, but i’ve also found myself sometimes just wanting to mention something about the video i’m actually posting, so i’m gonna switch it up here and there. wavy part 3 coming next week!

this is an older video from late-2022 at @holoceneportland. i played my first—and probably only—triple-header that night, as @wavicle.music opened, @reverbhunter went next, and @shannonentropy closed it out.

this is a brief drum solo from the shannon set. it was maybe only the second solo i had ever really played live, and it was also 100% improvised because i didn’t really feel comfortable with writing solos ahead of time back then. even with the fumbles and timing hiccups, i’m really happy with how it turned out and it’s always fun looking back at old videos, both for nostalgic reasons and to appreciate how i’ve grown!

this month marks 20 years behind the kit for me.

i admittedly don’t know the exact day, but i know i first played a drum set sometime in october of 2002.

the memory is blurry at this point, but it was an instant love. i have a natural gravitation towards things that challenge me in some new way, and i remember sitting for hours trying to figure out how to get all of my limbs to move the ways they needed to (still figuring that one out, to be honest).

there are far too many milestones, memories, and moments along the way to list out here, so i’ll just say this:

my life wouldn’t be the same if i hadn’t found this. it’s been an incredible journey so far and i am immensely grateful to everyone who’s been involved. if we’ve ever played together or you’ve ever supported me in any way: thank you thank you thank you. i appreciate you so much more than i can say.

here’s to 20+ more.🤘

another one from the archives, this time from last halloween at the buffy tribute show, feat. @rat_dad_666 doing his thing in the background

hard to hear, but the song is head like a hole, and the verse beat was particularly fun to put together

swipe for october shows + one more from the shoot with @sharpsteenstudios

i promise, someday i’ll record those @exbarb_ videos. 🙃

for now, here’s a blast beat from a new @shannonentropy track, recorded at our @mississippistudios show last october.

we’ll maybe/probably/eventually play a show again (just don’t ask when). #Σ
