Hunters Mentality

I felt compelled to write something once a noticed a truck full of pigs and cows on their way to the slaughterhouse. In a allot of ways I felt sorry for the animals, not knowing what fate beholds the poor creatures.

I have been granted the privilege of spending some time with animals in the bushveld or in the wild, and never once did I experience the same emotion of sympathy towards them.

I am always emotional after a hunt, due to fact that animal gave his life to feed my family.

Being wild and free or free roaming must be a undoubtable privilege and necessity for any type of animal and / or species.

It is this above mentioned hunters mentality that drives and compels us as hunters to hunt ethically and grant the animal the rightful chance in its own habitat to either be hunted or to escape based on their own terms and conditions.

I will always continue to hunt the way I do, taking responsibility for the life I have taken, to respect the fallen animal and pay tributes, be thankful and respect the hunt as much as I possibly can.

The K in Karoo 🦌

Fully experienced the Karoo with picture-perfect sunsets, extremely friendly people and long distance shots.

Every hunter who has ventured into the flat open plains will be able to testify, calibrate your telescope in at least 300 meters and following through are just a few critical components that will contribute to your success.

The most important was Uncle Petrus and sons who constantly gave advice and practiced patience. 🤝🏼

Thank you very much for the people you are, and the great privilege of being able to hunt on your plateau farm, I truly appreciate it. 😌🙏🏼

Onseker of jy ‘n Jagter is of nie? 🦌

Congratulations on your first hunt 🤝🏼🇿🇦

We are all Hunters in spirit no matter who you are, where you come from, what you look like or what type of gun you shoot, as long as you realize the depth of the situation, fully appreciate the life taken and shows the necessary respect for Mother Nature and its Creator… 🌎🙏🏼

…then you are a full-fledged Hunter.🙏🏼

Congratulations Petro on your first hunt and welcome to the Jagtersveld family.🌿🦌
