Anyone else have that plaid Watson board way back? Also if you didn’t know, Shawn could pass for Napoleon Dynamite’s doppelgänger. #wakeboarding #wakeboard #liquidforce #dockdebrief #wakepark

FROM THE VAULT
June 2011 // @danielgranttt
—
Back in June I made a post with photos of Daniel riding with the LF team on Lake Powell last summer. I wondered if a Wake the Line event was the first time I ever took pictures of him. I found them, and I was right. In 2011 much of the cable park world knew of young Daniel already, he was the globe-trotting grom from Thailand already winning contests on both his wakeboard and wakeskate. Back then we all saw him as a kid — hyper as hell, sometimes obnoxious, definitely hilarious, and unbelievably talented. Of course, Daniel took the win in the wakeskate division that year, and he went on to win many more titles in his career — continuing to shape, influence, and redefine what’s possible on a board on the water year in and year out.
In 2026 he’s still doing just that, but in a less obnoxious-hyper-kid way and more of a passionately-stoked-adult way. He’s still blowing minds, still spreading the awesomeness of wakeboarding and wakeskating (and trick skiing), and still being 100% DG. I’ve gotten to hang with Dan quite a lot since our first encounter at the 2011 #waketheline, and it makes me smile looking back at these, while trying to wrap my head around all the things he’s done and accomplished.
Speaking of still going though, Daniel, @liquidforcewake and @matty_muncey have something special cooking up that will be sure to blow your minds again. Keep an eye out…

I can’t believe it’s been one year since the best day of my life. I know I’m supposed to say that on my one year wedding anniversary but I truly mean it.

I dreamed of a day celebrating my love for @parxxx with all of the people who mean the most to us and in the place where we fell in love. I wanted a day where our families and friends came together to laugh, connect, and make memories with us. I can’t believe we actually made it happen. I had the absolute best day and one year later I still have no notes.

A year ago, in my vows, I said, “People often say that marriage is hard and you have to work at it every day, but I don’t know. I don’t buy that. I think life is hard, and by marrying you, I am gaining the best partner to face those moments with me.”

One year into marriage, I stand by that more than ever.

Life has been hard at times. Marriage to you has not been. You make the hard parts of life easier and the good parts even better.

Being married to you is my favorite thing about my life.

Happy one year, Parks. I’d choose you every single time. 🤍
