EDELWEISS explores Austrian identity through the intersection of rural tradition and contemporary urban culture. Traditional Tracht, Viennese tailoring, Loden and Blaudruck meet streetwear and modern silhouettes, bringing contrasting visual languages into a shared wardrobe. At its centre, the Edelweiss flower symbolises courage, determination and the possibility of overcoming boundaries. Through material experimentation and a critical approach to traditional gender and behavioural codes, the collection considers how cultural heritage can evolve without losing its meaning. EDELWEISS presents tradition as something living, shaped by a new generation and the relationship between past and present. Rooted in a sociocultural exploration of Austrian identity, the collection questions inherited traditions, behavioural codes and established ideas of belonging. Drawing inspiration from sensory perceptions, traditional Austrian craftsmanship, and the contrasts between rural and urban life, EDELWEISS seeks to bridge an Austria often divided between countryside and city.
