Still reflecting on the powerful impact of our Youth Women’s Empowerment Brunch. I’m so thankful I was given the opportunity to host such a meaningful event and bring @imp.a.c.t_rob ‘s vision to life ✨

Huge thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make this day so special for our young women 💐

The show must go on—out into the community!

We recently closed our sold-out production of The Color Purple, but the blessing continues. Today, our cast shared the magic of The Color Purple at United Church of Christ in Newark for their Black History Month Celebration.

This is why we do what we do. Theatre is a bridge, and we are so proud to build it out in the community.

Shoutout to Nikkia, Shayla, Jocelyn, Melyssa and Inisa — some of our dedicated cast members for their endless spirit and generosity. Thank you to Terry Davis for being such a gracious host. Community. Culture. Connection. That’s the DSP way.

Bravo ladies. Bravo! 💟

The final bow has been taken 💜

Daryl, thank you for the opportunity of a lifetime. To every single person in this cast, you made this experience unforgettable. The laughs, the tears, the “yes! Let’s go!” moments from the wings.

I came to tell a story. I left with a family.

In all that you are and in all that you do, take up space ✨

So grateful to have shared my love for the stage with this hilarious, dedicated, and talented group of people these last few weeks. I look forward to next time I can share space with them again. Cheers to everyone who made this beautiful and unapologetically black piece of art possible 💜🥂🤎

What an incredible experience this was💜 This past weekend I got to play the role of Squeak in The Color Purple and I just have to say this journey has been absolutely wonderful. I am absolutely going to miss this story and the fun I’ve had with this cast. We did 5 shows and thank you to all those who came out and supported and thank you to @thedarylstewart for casting me💜 Look what God has done🥰🙏🏽

The Union Arts Center is thrilled to showcase the talented performers bringing The Color Purple to life right in our DMK Black Box Theater. This cast is passionate about creating a truly immersive experience filled with beautiful vocals and genuine emotion.

This version of The Color Purple celebrates the journey from hardship to hope, highlighting the strong bonds of humanity and the incredible talent within our community.
Thank you so much for supporting local theater. We can’t wait to see you at the DMK!

So it has taken me a week to recover from months (since July), of planning for a fabulous event/performance of stepping and strolling. Last week this time I had the opportunity to perform and collaborate with an amazing group of women who said yes when I texted them to ask to participate. On behalf of Dance Roots Etc. Productions, I thank them, yet again lol, Dance New Jersey and Sorors that came out to support a night presenting and celebrating dance artist in New Jersey. Until next time …… ❤️🖤💛.
