Back in February, I was shocked

Two hosts didn't put my last name

on the Unsigned Spotlight Show

I was malicious and so selfish about my name

I did told them to "put some respect on my name"

And then, I'm finally apologized

So, I had to do what I do

I'm finally took the fault, the blame, and the shame

I did chastised these two

I did a mistake

But prayer change my life

My lowest point in my life was contagious

I have been sinned against the two hosts of

the Unsigned Spotlight Show

I'll always tried to be a man I am today

A true Christian man, also an Baptist

I took a leap of faith

My faith will be stronger

That is why I learn to forgive

But I learned

I thank God for granted me another

chance.

Dear colleagues and music enthusiasts, I am pleased to declare that I have chosen to modify my honorific name, which has been associated with my musical pursuits for almost ten years. Initially, I was recognized as the Southern Prince of the Blues, the title under which I penned my first song and received radio play. Later, I came to be known as the Southern Underdog of the Blues, a name given by Doug Russ, symbolizing the challenges and obstacles I overcame while attaining recognition, radio airplay, and online virality. Starting 2026, my new honorific title will be THE SOUTHERN SIRE OF THE BLUES.

Hey there! It’s Shawn. I want to share what’s been going on with me lately. My music career feels like it’s hit a wall. I’m feeling pretty betrayed and like every win comes with a loss. I didn’t receive any nominations for the I.A.I.A. Golden Kayak Awards, and honestly, I was blindsided by it. That’s part of why I’ve been so committed to attending church every Sunday. It’s been rough these past few days. Right now, I’m taking a break from my harmonica improvisations on YouTube, and the stress is getting to me. Living under the spotlight feels like I’m just borrowing time, and I’m not after fame—it’s love, loyalty, and recognition that I truly need. It’s tough. Really tough. I find myself struggling again, and it feels like others have it better than me. Even amid these challenges, I know I’m blessed, but it’s like I keep starting over from scratch. I want to confront reality: the loneliness of fame, losing the comfort of normalcy, and the true cost of it all. In nine years, all I’ve seen are prodigies and talent shows on TV, and it drives me up the wall. It’s disheartening to witness someone older in my hometown busking for change, mimicking my style. Please, just hear me out! It’s confusing, and it feels so unfair. So now, I need to regroup quickly. I’m looking for something real to help me regain my footing, to ignore the noise, and focus on the good for myself. And here’s a piece of wisdom: TRUST NO ONE! I want to finish by thanking you for supporting my music. I know that God is watching over me, and above all, keep God first! Thank you all! Much love and blessings!

Sincerely,
Shawn Adam Williams, The Southern Underdog of the Blues

My fundamental principles are: Never surpass me. Never outsell me. Never compete against me. Never underestimate my strengths. Avoid placing me in a subordinate position. Refrain from making judgments about me. Avoid criticizing my creative work. And the most critical principle is: Do not obstruct my progress. You must show respect, acknowledge my expertise, and provide adequate compensation. The Southern Underdog of the Blues has spoken! #rulesdontapply 🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵
