Happy Mother's Day to my grandmothers 🩷.
•
My mommy is the biggest go-getter to me. But these two women here are true go-getters who have enveloped me with love from the day I was born.
•
There were days where I was with my grandmothers in Kolkata the whole days and we would be in the kitchen together, sitting on the bed talking, and laughing at everything. There was always so much love and joy in spite of their hardships.
•
So much love I have felt from them that what a mother means to nurture, protect, cover from the world, means more to me than ever.
•
My Didu and Thammu both have been through a lot in an India which was not built for women.
•
But in spite of that, my Didu continues to start her days with skincare, egg whites in her hair, do facial exercises to be healthy; and my Thammu loved English so much that she got her Masters in American Literature.
•
Both are my go-getter inspiration and I am so blessed to have them as my second and third mothers! Happy Mother's Day to the incredible grandmothers in your life. I hope they can start taking more time to recognize their own needs and how amazing they truly are 💕.
