I am a seasoned Esthi babe 😔 I need you to use your common sense 😭

Your skin barrier is the foundation of every successful skincare treatment. Before jumping into aggressive treatments like chemical peels, microneedling, lasers, or intensive exfoliation, it’s important to ensure the barrier is healthy and functioning properly. The skin barrier, also known as the stratum corneum, is made up of skin cells and lipids that work together to retain moisture, regulate inflammation, and protect against bacteria, allergens, and environmental stressors. When the barrier is compromised, the skin becomes more reactive, dehydrated, inflamed, and prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, prolonged healing, breakouts, and irritation. Aggressive treatments intentionally create controlled injury to stimulate renewal and collagen production, but if the skin lacks the resources to repair itself efficiently, the results can be disappointing or even damaging. A healthy barrier allows the skin to tolerate advanced treatments better, heal faster, reduce the risk of complications, and produce more predictable, long-lasting results. Sometimes the fastest way to achieve healthy skin is by slowing down, repairing the barrier, and strengthening the skin before pushing it further. Healthy skin will always outperform stressed skin.
