Black history is not something I wait one month to celebrate.

We are living it every day.

Linked back up with Leah at Miami Lakes, a place that’s starting to feel like home for me. This one is about more than good shots. It is about showing up, growing in the game, and taking up space where we belong.

Leah shared her experience as a Black woman in golf, what keeps her grounded when the game gets tough, and the faith and family that keep her moving forward.

That is strength. That is resilience. That is excellence.

Golf Connections is about the people and the stories. The more we show up, the more others see what is possible.

Proud to share this one.

Talk golf to me. What inspired you to start playing?

This is what the OpportuniTEE Golf Classic is all about.

Redefining how talent, community, and industry connect through the game of golf—creating intentional spaces where access is expanded and meaningful relationships are built.

We’re here to remove barriers and open doors.

Grateful for golfers like @keyeriahmiles and @she.gotdrive who not only showed up, but truly see and support the mission behind what we’re building.

Next stop: Atlanta, GA. Full details drop tomorrow.

Tap the link in our bio and fill out the form for more details.

Miami Shores CC; Hole 13; Par 5; 502 yards.
Shot for shot with Leah - @she.gotdrive - all the way in.
I made birdie; she made par.

And let me be clear; par is good golf.
I’ll take 18 of them every day and sleep just fine.

“Never Underestimate A Girl Who Plays Golf “

I absolutely love my golf girl community. Captured are some of the babes that I have been blessed to network with. We support one another through the highs and lows of this content creation. They are simply amazing ❤️⛳️

{I Needed To Experience Freedom in Golf.poeticExpression}

I used to think golf was something I had to perform in…
something I had to prove myself through.
A game full of expectations, scorecards trying to define your life, and quiet pressure to fit into spaces that never fit me.

But somewhere along the way,
I forgot that golf was the place where I first breathed.

Before the noise.
Before the opinions.
Before the comparison.
Before the world tried to tell me what my swing “should” look like.

Coming back to the course now feels different.
Not competitive.
Not heavy.
Not forced.

It feels like meeting myself again —
the version that’s been waiting on me to slow down,
to listen,
to feel something real.

Every swing lately has been a conversation.
Every miss has been a mirror.
Every good shot feels like the higher version of myself whispering,
“See? It never left you.
You just stopped giving yourself permission to enjoy it.”

Freedom in golf didn’t show up in my technique…
it showed up in my release.
In letting go of the pressure.
In playing without the need to earn belonging.
In remembering that I’m a Maverick —
unconventional, uncontained,
and called to move differently.

This isn’t a comeback.
This is a return.
A reconnection.
A reclaiming.

I’m not playing to prove anything anymore.
I’m playing because I love who I’m becoming
every time I pick up a club.

This journey?
It’s not about perfection.
It’s about freedom.
And I’m grateful I found my swing…
right where I left it —
with me.
