Had an awesome weekend helping bring 'Conjoined at the Hip' to life for the 48 Hour Film Festival! 🎬

Regan had the opportunity to return as one of the DPs after working with this talented crew on previous shoots, while Connor jumped into his very first 48 Hour Film Festival as Gaffer. Long hours, quick turnarounds, and a whole lot of teamwork, but such a fun experience all around.

Huge shoutout to everyone involved for the creativity, hard work, and dedication that went into making this project happen in just 48 hours! 👏

Let’s make a comedy in 48 hours! What a blast doing the @dc48hourfilm challenge with our @wifvdc team!
@thelumixleo , our talented, gorgeous (should be in front of the camera!) set photographer beautifully captured all our fun! I played a rich donor at a sham fundraiser for our “conjoined” twins who were swindling everyone for money. @polyannaseries co-director @rnoonanprice and I got to officially crew together when I took on PA duties when my scenes were done, and my antique Subaru made a cameo! Looking forward to working with you all again as soon as possible! 🎬

“Once again WIFV participated in the 48 Hour Film Project, DC. The team consisted of 32 amazing participants, including crew and cast. This year we tried using 2 cameras. It was a learning experience but certainly helped with time management. Our genre was Comedy/Moral Dilemma. Our writing team got right to work Friday night and came up with a fun concept which was filmed on Saturday. Even though the actors were notified very late Friday night, they still showed up at 8 am Saturday morning ready to rock and roll. Believe it or not, we were done filming by 5:30 pm. The editor had the files by 9 and he was off and running. Editing was completed by Sunday at 7 pm. WOW, music, sound effects and all was ready to roll.”

Log Line - “When bickering twin sisters’ scheme to con donors into funding their fake “Twin-ectomy,” they get a taste of their own medicine…courtesy of a slicker con man!”

Join us for the screening on Sunday, May 17, 6:45 pm at the AFI Theater in Silver Spring. Tickets are now on sale. CAST

APRIL 🌸 A season of rebirth & renewal…

And with the crap year we’ve been having, we are all in desperate need of it.

My seasonal depression hits the hardest between March and April, but as I reflect on this past month, I remind myself there were some fortuitous moments too.

Like having my personal video project, that was all shot on an iPhone, being selected into a film festival. It’s being screened in a THEATER this weekend, a very first for me!

Or how @phyliciarashad , Kate Beyda, and Cheryl Ottenritter offered me words of wisdom as I get deeper into my filmmaking journey.

Or when I’m in community with local actors and filmmakers, reminding me I don’t have to do everything alone.

Or spending time with my hubby and close friends who never fail to make me laugh to tears.

Or how my first screenplay made it as a quarter finalist at the Big Apple Film Festival!

This year has been particularly harder to “F the noise” than previous years, but re-shifting my focus on the positives keeps my head in the game.
