Prepare to see this guy’s face ‘round these parts more 🙂‍↕️ What started as a solo endeavor devoutly supported by my sweet partner has naturally evolved into a team effort that has allowed me to lean on him more and off-load some of the behind-the-scenes labor. It is a change I’ve welcomed with arms WIDE open. When I started XF I didn’t imagine it as being another couple in the industry doing florals, but I’d be lying if I said that didn’t feel like the exact right thing to be doing now. An accurate representation of how I’m feeling after the spring season we had: Last weekend officially wrapped our spring wedding season and I could not be more sleepy and proud if I tried!! June unexpectedly became the first officially fully booked out month we’ve had since the beginning of XF and I really don’t have words to describe the feelings I’m feeling. It’s one small step for me, one giant leap for XF. I love this work so much, to watch us slowly but surely grow in real time gives me butterflies and makes my eyeballs sting with happy tears. 28 years old today ✨🌱 What I have learned in year 27 is that changing the course is vital for growth. I am a person who will not continue to do something they do not like. I will switch the gears and change course. If that doesn’t work I will jump out of the car and take a freaking bike to where I want to go. (literally because I’ve done so many different things throughout my life, I will change the course y’all, you have to) DO NOT EVER LET SOMEONE TELL YOU YOU HAVE TO SIT IN ONLY ONE BOX. That you can only be one thing. I contain multitudes in me. I have lived 100 lives. I cannot be told to sit still and keep the course of something if I have outgrown it. This year I made the decision to go back to solo and it has been the most freeing thing. Being a person outside of my career is something I didn’t know I needed so badly until I gave it to myself. 27 taught me a lot. I’ve been through it y’all. But I’m learning to take things with a grain of salt and let them go. What someone did to you is not because of you. It is because of them. Let it go. Pick your chin up and keep going. 28 feels like my most authentic self. Like freedom. Like building a life I am truly proud of and happy with. Do whatever you want. It is your life. Mute the negative voices of the smaller people. Be a person outside of your career. Do not forget joy. Go outside, feel the sun warming your skin and the wind tickling your hair. Come back to yourself. Be yourself. To my friends, my clients, and my husband Noah, thank you for always supporting me and cheering me on through every version of me. I love you all.
