This year, my focus takes a more deliberate and results-driven direction toward advancing Africa’s structural economic transformation through sustainable development, productive capacity expansion, and inclusive prosperity across regional member states. The emphasis is on strengthening economic resilience, reducing poverty at scale, and supporting systems that unlock value creation, deepen regional integration, and enable long-term, self-sustaining growth across the continent. At the core of this mission is deeper engagement with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), alongside complementary regional frameworks aimed at accelerating integration and trade efficiency. This includes advancing implementation pathways through the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) and the Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX), strengthening intra-African trade and expanding economic opportunity. My goal is to contribute to a continental trade ecosystem that drives expansion, diversification, industrialization, and stronger intra-African trade flows, positioning Africa’s markets as engines of opportunity, resilience, and shared prosperity. A key part of this work is active engagement with stakeholders and institutions across the continent, fostering collaboration and implementation pathways that translate policy into measurable impact. Over the past few years, my work has focused on improving education systems, advancing youth peace and security, supporting women, peace and security agendas, and contributing to African debt governance, including engagement around the African debt declaration of Lomé. This year, while continuing work across governance and peacebuilding, I will be placing stronger emphasis on Africa’s trade architecture, especially AfCFTA implementation, and on building stronger bridges between young people and the systems that shape their economic future. Africa’s transformation will be defined by how effectively we connect policy with people, institutions with innovation, and vision with implementation. And I remain fully committed to that work.

The International Forum for Peace and Diplomacy (IFPD) @ifpd_official stands as a truly pan-African platform, cutting across borders, regions, and cultures to advance dialogue, preventive diplomacy, and sustainable peace across Africa and beyond. Far from being confined to any single country, IFPD reflects a continental vision rooted in cooperation, inclusion, and shared responsibility for global stability. What makes IFPD especially distinctive is the clarity, depth, and intentionality of its well-crafted plans and commitments. Its approach to peacebuilding and diplomatic engagement is structured, forward-looking, and action-oriented designed to translate dialogue into practical outcomes and long-term impact. This vision is driven by purposeful leadership under Amb @dr.timmyisme , Director General of IFPD, whose commitment to building a credible, impactful, and youth-inclusive diplomatic institution is evident in the quality of engagements and the growing reach of the Forum across Africa. I am also proud to acknowledge the exceptional calibre of leaders within the IFPD family, including my sister Amb. @ireneonwuka , Special Envoy on Education, and Hon. Aileru Mukail @a_mikail99 , Director for Drug Abuse, Prevention, and Control, West Africa. Their dedication and expertise continue to strengthen IFPD’s mission across critical areas of peace, education, and social development. Equally inspiring are the wider members of the IFPD team brilliant, passionate, and purpose-driven individuals whose professionalism, coordination, and shared belief in peace as a collective mission are truly mind-blowing. IFPD is not merely convening conversations; it is shaping narratives, influencing policy direction, and building a strong continental community of peace advocates. I look forward to its continued growth and to contributing meaningfully to this important journey toward a more peaceful and cooperative Africa.

The G20 South Africa 2025 Summit stands as a historic moment for the African continent. It is the first time in history that the G20 has been held on African soil, and this achievement marks a powerful shift in global leadership and recognition of Africa’s growing influence. The summit is a clear sign that Africa’s voice is becoming central in shaping international policy and global development. This milestone was made possible through the leadership of key African figures. President João Lourenço of Angola, serving as the Chairperson of the African Union, has provided strong and unifying leadership that elevated Africa’s collective agenda. His commitment to a more integrated and assertive continent has played a major role in bringing Africa to the forefront of global decision-making. Additionally, H.E. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, has brought diplomatic strength, experience, and strategic vision to the AU’s work. His efforts in strengthening continental cooperation and Africa’s global partnerships contributed greatly to this monumental achievement. President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa also deserves special commendation for his leadership in hosting the summit. His diplomatic engagement and commitment to Africa’s development made it possible for the world’s most powerful economies to gather on African soil. Together, these leaders have shown that Africa is no longer on the margins of global affairs. Africa is taking its rightful place as a confident, strategic, and influential player. The G20 Summit in South Africa is more than a record-breaking event; it is a bold declaration that the world cannot move forward without Africa at the center. Africa has made history and Africa is standing tall.
