August 6, 1993 a Black superhero film, written, directed, and led by @iamroberttownsend , was filmed in Reservoir Hill, Baltimore.

It wasn’t Marvel Studios… but Marvel Comics published a 6-issue series with Stan Lee’s co-sign placing Meteor Man firmly in the Marvel universe.

Years later, the Golden Lords reappeared in Miles Morales: Spider-Man. And last October, I shared this story in a reel…

@doncheadle who played Goldilocks one of the villains in Meteor Man was years later casted in Iron Man 2 as War Machine.

In 2020, I dropped a limited hoodie collection series with the original comic panels.

In 2022, I teamed up with @truthinthisart and @motorhousebaltimore to host a Meteor Man movie night. The very next day, @kendricklamar performed at the Super Bowl surrounded by dancers styled as Golden Lords one of the dancers @jusbmore is from Baltimore!

In 2022 I also was given the opportunity to collaborate with @dominiquethorne and @marvel creating wrap gifts for the @marvelstudios @disneyplus Iron Heart Series

In 2025, I met Townsend face to face in Oakland California And I received a signed issue of the Meteor Man comic.

This isn’t nostalgia. This is legacy.

💬 Bonus:

In 2020, I wrote that I could see myself collaborating with @marvel one day.
Two years later… in October 2022 it happened.

Write the vision and make it plain, so that whoever reads it may run with it.
