Movement, rhythm, and control.

Exploring the body's ability to shift between speed and stillness, strength and fluidity.

Inspired by natural movement, martial arts, and the simplicity of moving with intention.

The ocean, the fading light, and a moment of movement.

The beauty is in the flow.

The ocean becomes your training ground.

A simple walk forward, a walk backwards, and a slight knee lift — but beneath the surface, there is much more happening.

Every step requires coordination, rhythm, balance, and control. As the waves push against us from different directions, the body has to continually adjust to maintain stability.

The feet and ankles work to adapt to the moving ground and shifting forces, challenging foot control, ankle stability, and the ability to produce and absorb force. The resistance of the water also challenges the legs, hips, and core to work together.

Moving forward and backwards adds another layer of coordination and body awareness.

No complicated equipment. No artificial environment. Just the human body adapting to nature.

Sometimes, the simplest movements offer some of the most interesting ways to develop athletic qualities.

With the heavyweight champion of The Gambia, Ousman Sinera.

Frog jumps with my brother Ousman Sinera.

Not every session is about finishing the distance. Sometimes the body tells you exactly where the limit is.

Push, breathe, adapt, recover — then come back stronger.

The scream was part of the journey. 😂

Barefoot on the sand, moving with the ground.

A-skips, changing direction, finding rhythm and staying connected — all in one flow.

The beach gives you a different kind of challenge. Uneven ground, the natural slope, the sand beneath your feet. Just moving, adapting and enjoying the work.

Another session with my brother, Ousman Sinera, Gambia’s Heavyweight Boxing Champion.

Different paths, same love for movement and the work.

Low position. Tippy toes. Controlled steps.

Working on balance, coordination, stability and movement mechanics while keeping the body in a tight position.

Each step demands control through the feet, ankles, calves, Achilles, hamstrings and hips — while the opposite arm and leg work together.

The feet are the foundation of movement. They absorb force, create force and help control every step we take.

A lot of training focuses on the bigger muscles while the feet are overlooked.

Build the foundation. Control the movement. Then build the speed.

Every athlete starts with movement. 🏖️

Today, we explored natural and primal movement patterns in the sand.

🦎 Low Lizard Walk
🦆 Duck Walk
↔️ Side Primal Walk
⬅️ Backward Primal Crawl

These movements challenge coordination, balance, mobility, body awareness, and control while allowing athletes to explore different ways of moving.

Barefoot training in the sand also creates a unique environment where the feet, ankles, and the rest of the body must continuously adapt to the ground.

For us, movement is more than exercise.

It's awareness.
It's coordination.
It's control.
It's learning how to understand and use your body.

One movement at a time. 💪🏽🏖️

Hello! As a photographer, being on the other side of the camera is not a very comfortable thing for me. I set out to share other people's stories through the Global Enthusiasts project, not my own.

I wanted to introduce myself here to help give a bit of the background behind this project, why it means something to me, and hopefully share why it should mean something to you too!

I am a lifelong dabbler and a curious traveler-- both things that led me to pursue this photojournalism project where I document the lives of enthusiasts across the globe, introducing them one by one, building connection across cultures.

If you want to support this project as it grows into a published book, or if you just like seeing cool pictures of cool people doing cool things in cool places, follow along & tell other people about it! I want to give these enthusiasts the audience they deserve.
