⚒️Inside my studio, a major full-circle moment is coming to life. Back in the early 2000s, at my very first art gallery show in Little Rock, Arkansas, my handmade chain belts completely sold out on opening night. Two decades later, I am officially back at it, launching a new line of single and double chain bohemian belts. I am hand-weaving jeweler’s brass links at a thrifted wood desk using my grandpa’s anvil and hammer. Many of the genuine gemstones and Czechoslovakian beads featured in these pieces (like dark green agate, moonstone, root beer agate, and desert rose quartz) have been waiting in my private studio inventory for nearly 20 years. Because these gemstones are rare and vintage, these will be highly limited, one-of-a-kind pieces. Once completed, they will be dropping online soon, and available at upcoming pop up shops in Austin. If you have your eye on a piece or want to collaborate on a completely bespoke belt with custom colors or gemstones, send me a message and let’s chat! #JeriGlynJewelry #MadeInTexas

The beginning, fondly remembered, 1 truck, 1 trailer, 1 very good dog🐕, 2 art nuts (Sheila and Greg) 1 drive south in what has to be record time! Unload and create a gallery! This part of the story belongs in large measure to Greg Lastrapes, whose contribution to the whole operation was completely badass. When there was something to lift, solve, build, move, consider or reconsider, or somehow make happen, Greg was there. Then art on the floor, then art on the pedestals, then art on the walls, desk placed, Harry Allen expertly applied the vinyl letters. And it became STROBEL gallery and the next morning the doors opened on Palm Springs Modernism Week! People, collectors, new friends. Seattle to Palm Springs. First show. First chapter. Wait until you see what is next!

ASSEMBLY Art Fair Seattle: I had the pleasure of working with Theresa Wingert on her installation “Oris” by creating glass elements for her sculpture. An immersive experience of sight, sound and form, her work stood out amongst outstanding galleries like Traver Gallery, PDX Gallery and Studio E. They’ve taken over West Canal Yards and it’s not to be missed! Thank you Theresa for trusting me to translate your visions. ❤️⚡️

Final week to view Glassscape at Vetri Gallery! I’ve been highlighting my new pieces as the show goes by collection or theme. With these pieces I was interested in exploring form and color in a pure minimalist fashion. Where glass is just a medium for sculptural expression. Blown vessels are slumped together allowing each color to react to the heat based on its chemical makeup. While I love all the work so much these still captivate me most. On view through November 1st

Swatch: solid glass sculptures. Evoking imaginary landscapes inspired by sumi-e Japanese ink drawings, anime, textiles and Murano solid techniques. Each piece resembles a miniature world viewed inside a terrarium. This is a new collection and direction that has been solving over the past year. Embracing my love of color and the magical qualities of glass. On view and for sale at Vetri Gallery in Seattle through November 3rd. New works shown along side the stunning new works of Justin Parker.

Colony: hand blown glass art/design object From my two person show with Justin Parker. Glassscapes at Vetri Gallery. Now on view, and part of Refract Seattle!! This is my favorite work from the show. First of all it came out exactly as I imagined it to, which was quite a feat. I made this at The Museum of Glass and it took 6 people 3 hours to complete, not to mention the beautiful tedious polishing job. Secondly, I’m in love with this color palette. And most of all I just loved the process and that it actually worked!! Many of my pieces in the exhibit are explorations into color, material and form. Disassociated from what is considered proper technique, the glass is manipulated sculpturally as pure mass and material.
