House of Love is coming soon! ♥️

Firstly, we want to thank our generous supporters for donating money towards the making of this film. We are well on the way and on target to complete it for our goal, November 2025.

The team have been hard at work creating some beautiful animation in line with Emma’s creative vision, which was extremely well planned as you can expect.

Thanks again to our dedicated team: Coco, Julian, Oliver, Luke, Sofia, Kate, Ged and Harriet who are working hard to make this film, ready for LIAF opening night!

🎬 We're excited to spotlight Tapestry of Time — an innovative mixed-media animation film that brings to life the story of migration to and from the British Isles across the ages – from the Ice Ages to today. ❄️➡️🏙️

Created by directors and animators Osbert Parker (@animatedplayground), a three-time BAFTA nominee, alongside Luke Ramsay (@shelbomugo), Tapestry of Time, is a film commissioned by @migrationmuseumuk for our #AllOurStories exhibition.

The film uses metaphors to emphasise fragility and human resilience, with a changing horizon line symbolising a timeline through history.

🔮🌀Behind the scenes, the process:

Osbert and Luke created storyboards for the entire film, using research material collated by Nanda Valdez @nandavalldy, to inform the visual language. Digital techniques were then used to transfer paper designs into moving pictures and placed onto an animatic timeline across three screens.

Other techniques include artistic stop-motion experiments and AI that allow for innovative ways to bring two dimensional etchings to life in three dimensional space. With a cubist montage approach, the work also captures multiple perspectives and moments in time, at once.

The sound design, created by Rob Szeliga @rob_szeliga is a unique, evocative soundscape from the past, enhancing storytelling with a deep sense of place, time, and people

This is a timely and important artwork that captures the many people, communities, and significant events that have shaped Britain. And we're excited to say that it is available for everyone to see, for free, here at @migrationmuseumuk as part of the #AllOurStories exhibition. Open Thurs–Sat | 11am–5.30pm

Appreciation Post ✨

Every year some of our year 1 & 2 students step up to create an intro and outro and other visuals for our showcases.

Our SLAs from year 2 decided to include some familiar faces in this year’s showcase.

Well done to you all! These always start the show off with a laugh. Also thank you to students who have helped out over the years 🙌🏻 and for the Graduation class of 2020 who started the tradition.

Swipe to see more visuals from the past few showcases. 🐸 @middlesexuniversity
