07 April 2023, the day I slept with Parcelled Bodies. Can I call them bodies ? I don’t know. I don’t even know their names, I don’t know where are they from, I don’t even know what gender are they, I just know that everybody is wrapped in white cloths. Are they really dead inside that wrap ?
 This is a view from the side berth that stuck with me from one of my train trips. I was struggling to sleep in that frozen compartment. I could see everyone preparing the their beds. I copied them. Its was already 11pm, the white cloths are illuminated in the blue light inside the cabin. I closed my eyes, But the traces of those white clothes were still there in my shadows. 

I wanted to draw this image from that day. Dead bodies stacked in train cabin like a mortuary. But couldn’t make it.
but the Odisha train tragedy made me think about that night again. The news made me feel like I had witnessed the incident a month ago. This work came out of that urge to let go of that night, maybe not entirely.. . .
