Today’s the day — Bigibila is out now 📚

So proud to see Bigibila finally out in the world. This book has been such a special journey, and it’s incredible to already feel the love and support building around it.

Writing this story with @irma.gold was an amazing experience, and working alongside my cousins @jrt.creative and @shelljax Jackson made it even more meaningful. So much heart, culture and connection has gone into this book.

Bigibila has come home today — and I hope this story finds its way into many hands, classrooms and hearts.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the journey ❤️✨

Sneak peek of Come Home, Bigibila 🦔✨

This story is all about connection, culture and family. I wrote this book with @irma.gold in honour of my son, and it means a lot to share a story that celebrates where we come from and the bonds that bring us home.

The beautiful artwork was created by my incredibly talented cousin @jrt.creative , with stunning design by my other cousin @shelljax. It’s really special to have family bring this book to life.

Pre-order now — it’s the perfect story for bedtime and for sharing culture with the next generation. 📚💛

I’m incredibly proud to share a very special project — my new children’s book, Come Home, Bigibila. 🦔✨

I wrote this book alongside @irma.gold Gold, with beautiful illustrations by my cousin @jrt.creative and thoughtful design by @shelljax Jackson. It’s been brought to life by the wonderful team at @allenandunwin

This story follows Bigibila, an echidna — my totem animal — as she journeys back to Country. Woven through the pages is Gamilaraay language, carrying themes of belonging, family, culture and deep connection to Country.

This book was written in honour of my son. It’s about coming home — to family, to culture, to who you are. I hope it connects with young people and families everywhere, and helps spark pride in language and identity for the next generation.

Preorders are open until 31 March 2026. I’d love your support — you can secure a copy here:

💛❤️ 🖤HOME is here… and I’m so proud to finally share it with you. 🦔✨

Bigibila was born on a night when Gawarrgay (the dark emu) was high in the sky…
The air tasted of native lime, and the bush was alive with animal songs.

This is Country. This is belonging. This is home.

But when Bigibila finds herself far away from everything she knows… how will she ever find her way back? 🌿🌙

This story is gentle, rhythmic, and filled with heart — with Gamilaraay language woven through the pages, celebrating connection to family, place, and culture.

I’m incredibly honoured to have created this book alongside the brilliant @irma.gold Gold, and brought to life visually by the deadly talent of cuz @jessicatedim 🎨💫 (absolute magic!). Designs by the amazing @shelljax

And this one is deeply personal…
🖤 HOME is dedicated to my son.
Because no matter where life takes him, I want him to always feel that connection — to Country, to family, to identity, to love.

At the back of the book there’s also a fun facts section all about Bigibila (echidnas) because you know I can’t help myself 😄🐾 @allenandunwin out next month 31st of march. Huge thanks to my incredible co-authors @irma.gold gold, @jessicatedim and @shelljax for bringing this story to life with such care and heart. Thank you to our publisher @allenandunwin for taking a chance on this book, and to @kaysermelissa for believing in the concept from the very beginning.

Grateful, proud, and excited to finally share Bigibila with the world. #author #story #fatherhood
