What happens after treatment matters just as much as getting someone through the door.

That’s something Shelly Dutch has seen throughout decades of working in addiction recovery.

Her work has focused on what helps people keep moving forward: access to recovery housing, supportive environments for young people, therapy, mentorship, and most importantly, real connection with people who care about what happens next.

Because recovery isn’t one moment or one program. It’s a journey, and having the right support around you can make all the difference.

San Diego weekend! So much fun with family, friends, and animals. Highly recommend doing the zoo by yourself if you’re like me and want to spend hours staring at birds

Wednesday night, many of my worlds converged: the company I work for, Recovery.com, hosted an event (screening a documentary depicting the lives of 12 artists who used their creativity as a pathway to recovery) and donated all proceeds to an organization (Recovery Foundation, Inc.) founded by the woman who saved me from drinking myself to death, Shelly Dutch. In attendance were dozens of people I’ve met over the last 9 years of treatment, support groups, sober social events, recovery advocacy, mentorship, and more...who have known me since I couldn’t string together 24 hours without a drink. Meanwhile, my coworkers have only known the happy, joyous, and free (from the obsession) version of me. The best part? All those versions of me are true and real and good. I’m here because I was once there, and I know more freedom today than I ever would have, had I not fallen all the way down. This life is pretty great. 💜

For the longest time.. ALLLL I wanted, was to meet new sober friends, maybe you can relate? ⁣
⁣
Friends who could understand what it's like to struggle with alcohol and who know how hard it is to get & STAY sober in a world that normalizes getting drunk for fun. ⁣
⁣If I was honest.. getting drunk wasn't fun for me anymore...⁣
⁣
Sure, I began to learn how to cultivate joy in sobriety, but if I'm honest, I was kinda lonely at first.⁣
⁣
NOW - my life is abundant with friends who choose an alcohol-free lifestyle, and it's awesome to be a part of this movement that's normalizing SOBRIETY!⁣
⁣
𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗧'𝗦 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆.𝗦𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿.𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲- 𝗦𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁! ✌🏽🔆🌵⁣
⁣
To bring people together to..⁣
⁣
𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲. 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹. 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄. (𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗨𝗡!)⁣
⁣
Think Retreat + Conference = Summit⁣
⁣
It's going to be an EPIC 70-Person, all-genders event this spring in Sunny Sedona! ⁣
⁣
It's halfway sold out and is going to be life-changing for those who attend. 🙌🏽⁣
⁣
The first people that bought tickets are participants from past retreats I've hosted because they know that my superpower is bringing people together & creating EXPERIENCES.. ⁣
⁣
These aren't typical yoga classes, breathwork sessions, speakers, workshops, or sound healing sessions.. ⁣
⁣
I've got the BEST of the BEST facilitators lined up! ⁣
⁣
Are you ready to connect with like-minded individuals, learn anxiety reducing techniques, build confidence, and stoke motivation so that you can start living your BEST sober life ever?? ⁣
⁣
✨️ 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗶𝗼 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 & 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆! ✨️⁣
⁣
Payment plans are available!! ⁣
The tick price increase on January 1st!⁣
⁣
See you in Sedona!⁣
⁣
p.s. The only requirement to come is to stay alcohol-free during the weekend. If you want to bring a friend or loved one who isn't IN recovery but is interested, they are welcome!⁣
⁣
If anyone is sober-curious.. come check it out!⁣
