Hey everyone! There will be no MBRC at BookWorks tomorrow due to races and several other runs in the area. ❌ We are redirecting, and hoping you will join one of these other clubs tomorrow morning. Announcing a new team-up effort soon with clubs in the area!! Happy 4th! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #runclub #monterey #running

Being sidelined with an injury is a quick lesson in patience, but giving up wasn’t an option. Rebuilding back to a 10K was a choice I made entirely for myself. 🏃🏽‍♀️✨ Through it all, I put my trust in God, kept my head down, and focused entirely on my own lane. Taking 2nd place was a beautiful bonus, but the real win was protecting my peace, remembering who I am, and executing the goals I set for myself without looking left or right. 🎖️🙏🏽 The best part of this chapter has been realizing who is genuinely in my circle. To the run groups and the friends who have truly become family: thank you. Having your unmatched energy, belief, and respect in my corner made all the difference. Sharing the pavement with people who actually want to see you win is everything, and I will be forever grateful for this community. 🤍 Deeply grateful for the journey. The hunger is there, and the work continues. ⚡🏁

Happy Global Running Day! Look at what you all have built and are continuing to build together right here in the Monterey Bay. 😍 When I first left the area almost 20 years ago, I only knew of three run clubs: Wednesday Night Laundry Runners, who today are still hosting run events and giving back to the community by providing scholarships to local high school distance runners; Santa Cruz Track Club - supporting youth to masters level athletes through coaching/training programs, and the now defunct Tri-County Running Club - the developmental club for middle school to college-aged xc/track athletes from Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey counties. Now, no matter what day of the week it is or where you are in the 831, you can always find a group to run and train with nearby! I hope y’all know this movement and this run club boom we’re seeing is bigger than just running… and certainly bigger than all of us. I see the crossover between clubs, I see people meeting/supporting folks they normally wouldn’t if they just stuck to their side of town, I see those not registered for local races still show up and form the loudest cheer squads, I see clubs partnering with local businesses, I see many of y’all pouring back into the community, and so many more great examples of connection… all because running brought us together. Keep it going, y’all! Show up for yourself and each other. Always. ❤️
