It’s been an absolute dream come true to start this business and do what I do best in my own way. The events industry means so much to me because at the center of it all are the people.🫂 To reconnect with trusted vendors and build connections with new ones brings me so much joy. To create new relationships with clients and build beautiful experiences together is truly an honor.

year 5 of experience camps is complete, and i’m already counting down the days until next year!

experience camps is a one-week summer camp program for kids that have experienced the death of a parent/caregiver or sibling. volunteering for this organization has truly been my rainbow in the storm that is grief (and now my life). i loved getting to see newbie and returning campers come back this year and help each other to have the most fun and meaningful week.

i’ve been lucky enough to have excamps for half of my grief journey and honestly i am so thankful. camp helps bring out parts of my mom in my personality that i don’t get to see most of the year. i have also met so many amazing people that have changed my life and make coming back each year better and better.

There are so many things I can say about the last six days, yet somehow I’m speechless at the same time? Told some people I was going to grief camp and they were like “ohhhhhhhh… 🤨” because how sad does that sound?

@experiencecamps changed my life this past week (and forever, honestly). I had the privledge of meeting some of the most incredible people and kids I have ever met. Utterly altered my brain chemistry and like @rhiannonhanlon said multiple times - “rocked my world”.

It ultimately solidified that beautiful things CAN come out of something so sad and life altering. It made me feel seen, heard, understood, trusted and so beyond loved. It allowed me to be a shoulder to cry on and a person to laugh with. It allowed me to grieve in a space where I didn’t feel judged or “out of place”. But most importantly, it allowed kids - who I was a stranger to - grieve in a space where THEY didn’t feel judged or “out of place”.

We, as counselors, showed up for these girls this week and helped them when they maybe didn’t even know how much they needed us. But they, single handedly, helped me just as much, if not more.

I don’t think I’ll ever come down from this high — I want to thank my beautiful friend @shergen for sharing excamps with me + pointing me in all the right directions to get me here.

@carlagiorgio - you’re an incredible human being who I am so grateful and honored to know — you RUN that shit and do it so well.

To my fellow co-counselors — @carolinemae412, @jmarzi924, @rhiannonhanlon - I will never forget my first year here, with you all by my side. I will cherish these memories and moments forever. I love you all!!

To all the other friends I met — thank you for the laughs, cries, hugs, support and love. You’re all so special and incredible and I couldn’t be happier to now have you in my life! 🌟
