In the past few months, there’s been a surge of fake AI accounts stealing comedians’ jokes, recreating their material and racking up views without crediting the people who actually wrote it.

For working comedians, it’s becoming a real problem. A joke that may have taken weeks or months to develop can now be copied, repackaged by an AI-generated character and pushed to millions of people before the original comedian ever gets the chance.

We asked real-life comedians what they think about AI coming for their jokes.
