POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Here’s my last showreel (from 2024) I have been working on other projects.

I am interested in furthering my experience in documentary making, docu-dramas and writing new material for some exciting, heartfelt projects in the future exploring life, mental health, creativity and healing.

- Just trying to get my head around funding, prioritising, working and sharing the voices of our beautiful world 🌎❤️✌️

Supported by House of St Barnabas who empowered homeless people with confidence and life skills to get back into work and realise their voice. (Unfortunately the funding was cut.)

HAIR

By Cleo Samoles-Little and Janina Samoles (daughter mother dream team!)
@cleosamoleslittle & @janinasam - @shetakesfilms

HAIR is a colourful, playful and forthright look at the modern woman’s relationship with their HAIR. Society seems obsessed with it and this zingy short explores what women really think, from bald to bush and everything in between.

Cleo’s first short was featured on Short of The Week which quickly lead to views of over 170,000. The short premiered at the 60th BFI London Film Festival 2016, was nominated for ‘Best Female Director’ at the London Short Film Festival 2017, was long-listed for BAFTA and has screened at festivals around the world.

In the early stages of her career she was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ in the director category at the Rushes Soho Shorts 2012 for short film Jane’s Life. She has also been featured in Pitch Magazine’s February 2020 ‘New Talent’ issue.

Janina has an MA in screenwriting and experience of developing and workshopping scripts - as well as writing her own, Janina has been awarded a TAPS award for her short film, Julie, been showcased at BAFTA Rocliffe for her short Platinum and received funding from the Arts Council to develop her feature film, The Holiday.

Janina has also worked as a Creative Producer on several short films and was nominated for Best Producer for GOLD at The Underwire Festival in 2014 and is currently developing a feature script with her daughter - Cleo!

Come down to SHORTIES this Sunday to see this mother daughter dream team in action! link in bio
