✨I’M GOING TO BE AN ORTHODONTIST!✨

This journey has GOD written all over it! I can’t stress enough how BLESSED I feel right now. So many long nights, silent prayers, tears, and sacrifices! GOD carried me through this season and into the next with so much grace. This is a sign to everyone with big goals to keep going, even when it feels impossible! I am living proof that GOD can take humble beginnings and turn them into unimaginable opportunities 💫

To everyone who has supported me throughout this process, especially my stepDAD, family, friends, and MEHARRY family! THANK YOU so much for always encouraging me throughout this journey!!✨

Meharry Medical College’s 150th Convocation was a significant moment ✊🏽. I am incredibly grateful to be a part of this legacy. It was an honor to be recognized for my academic achievements, receiving four scholarships and being named to the Dean’s List!

My mantra for the rest of this journey is: I don’t Lose; I either Win or I Learn.

Just seven months until the prefix switches from Mr. to Dr. 👨🏽‍⚕️ The countdown is on!

Black Excellence✨🦷

Grateful for every late night and early morning that paid off — Dean’s List all 4 years, scholarships every year, and the best friends by my side chasing the same dreams.

Thanks to our Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Kerin Burdette, a pediatric dentist, for joining us at our Head Start outreach this week. We appreciate her support and dedication to the Meharry mission of service.

Finished my first clinical week as a D4!🦷🪥

It’s been a while since I last posted — a lot has happened, and I’ve been lucky to go on some incredible adventures along the way. As I head into my final months of dental school, I’m making it a goal to document more of this chapter. Stay tuned — more to come 🦷✨

267 days until Dr. Marks :)

Help is on the way!! The next generation of great dentists, pediatric dentists, and orthodontists are on their way!!! Today I had the pleasure of having a 3rd year student from the best dental school in the land Meharry Medical College) spend some time in the office as she shapes and envisions the career she will be pursuing in orthodontics. Sharp as whip! I was very impressed with this young lady. @shethedentist

Yesterday one of my very first patients (now a Meharry grad) worked in our office on the Smile Studio Kids side caring for the little ones needing sedation to complete their dental work. My heart is FULL!! #meharrymade - Tyus - IYKYK
