My grandparents lived the dream, and I don’t mean that in the sense of having financial wealth. My grandfather was a sharecropper with an eighth grade education. He and my grandma were married for over 65 years and had 14 children (yes, I said 14😏) while living in a three bedroom home.

So this isn’t about money at all…it’s so much bigger than that. It is about legacy.

They loved the Lord with all of their heart, and they raised their children, their children’s children, and their children’s children’s children to know God. That has been a staple that has kept our family connected and united through the love of Christ and the love for each other for generations.

I constantly remember my grandmother telling us over and over again, anytime we would fight or have a disagreement about anything, “Y’all need to love one another.”

That legacy remains today.

You can see it in the ways that we gather every Saturday morning at 7am on our family prayer line to pray together and to connect. You can see it in our family gatherings like the one we had this past weekend where we get to see each other face to face and get all the kids together. That legacy planted by Mose and Beatrice Jones is alive, strong, and well in us.

This past weekend when we gathered for the Jones Family Fun Day in Monroe, LA and then went to Pleasant Star Baptist Church, our grandparents’ church in Winnsboro, LA, reminded me of all the reasons why I’m so proud to be part of the Jones family. I felt their presence all weekend. Love and miss them so much. ❤️

IThe Hands That Helped Shape Me
There is a version of me the world sees today, but she did not get here alone.
This is my way of saying thank you.
To every person who prayed for me, corrected me, encouraged me, challenged me, believed in me, forgave me, taught me, or simply showed up when I needed someone... thank you.
Some of you planted seeds without ever seeing the harvest. Some of you held me together when life tried to pull me apart. Some of you may not even realize the impact your words, your kindness, or your example had on my journey.
Every lesson, every conversation, every opportunity, and even every difficult season became part of the woman I am becoming.
I've often said I wanted to thank everyone one day. Then I realized something.
Tomorrow isn't promised.
So I'm choosing to honor you today.
This will be an ongoing tribute to the people who helped shape my life. Some names will be well known. Others may never stand in front of a crowd. But every person honored here has left fingerprints on my story.
I don't celebrate perfection. I celebrate impact.
If you poured into my life in any meaningful way, please know this:
You mattered.
Your investment was not wasted.
Your kindness was not forgotten.
Your influence lives on in me, and through me, I pray it reaches countless others.
With a grateful heart,
IAMM Meeh 💗
