We are delighted to welcome Shilpa Yarlagadda, Founder and CEO of Shiffon Co., to the Creative Women Assembly at the United Nations in New York.

An entrepreneur, innovator and advocate for women in business, Shilpa founded Shiffon Co. from her Harvard dorm room in 2017, creating a direct-to-consumer fine jewellery label with a clear purpose: to use luxury as a platform for connection, opportunity and meaningful social impact.

Through the Startup Girl Foundation, the nonprofit she founded, 50% of Shiffon Co.’s profits are donated to organisations that empower women. The foundation has helped fund 11 startups led by and supporting women, while providing mentorship and helping female founders gain more equitable access to venture capital.

Shiffon’s signature Duet Pinky Ring has been worn by Michelle Obama, Serena Williams, Nicole Kidman and Emma Watson, transforming a piece of fine jewellery into a wider symbol of women supporting women.

At just 21, Shilpa was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, and her work has been profiled by Vanity Fair, The Economist and The Wall Street Journal.

Her commitment to innovation and social impact extends beyond Shiffon. Shilpa is a Global Innovation Fellow at Harvard and an editor at The Shift, a biannual impact publication and community platform spotlighting women shaping culture, leadership and social progress, anchored by the legacy of pioneering feminist activist Gloria Steinem. Ten per cent of the publication’s proceeds support nonprofit causes, including the Startup Girl Foundation.

Shilpa’s work reflects a new generation of leadership, where creativity, commerce and purpose come together to create opportunity and lasting impact.

Please note: the registration fee applies exclusively to the evening networking programme. Those who register will also be added to the guest list for the Creative Women Platform Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters.

Registration is now open:

Leaving Wimbledon with a full heart. 🤍🎾

I’m so grateful to have been part of The Shift Château, the first female forward house at Wimbledon! A space celebrating women who are changing the game across sport, storytelling, leadership, and beyond.

It was incredible to witness icons like Martina Navratilova and Yusra Mardini be honoured as sports shiftmakers. Hearing Martina speak about her journey, her experience with cancer, and women’s health was such a powerful reminder of the importance of resilience and using our voices to advocate for ourselves.

I had the honour of sharing a piece of my own story— my grandmother’s journey from apartheid South Africa to Canada, and the sacrifices she made so her daughters could have opportunities she dreamed of. The women who came before me continue to shape the storyteller I am today. I also performed Sarah Kay’s “If I Should Have a Daughter“, a beautiful reminder of the hopes we carry for the next generation.

So much gratitude for @theshiftison and all the lovely people I got to meet and spend time with throughout this Wimbledon. 🤍

A glimpse into Day 1 at The Shift Chateau during Wimbledon, where beautiful conversations, unforgettable people, and thoughtful details came together to create an afternoon with purpose.

At the heart of it all were three remarkable women whose stories remind us what leadership, resilience, and purpose truly look like.

Martina Navratilova transformed tennis long before the trophies were counted. A nine-time Wimbledon singles champion, she redefined what was possible for women in sport while championing equality and women’s health. Her legacy reminds us that true leadership reaches far beyond the court.

Yusra Mardini’s story shows us that courage can change far more than a single life. After fleeing Syria and helping save lives during her journey to safety, she went on to compete at two Olympic Games as part of the Refugee Olympic Team and is now a global advocate for displaced people. Her journey is one of resilience, hope, and purpose.

Taylor Townsend continues to redefine success on her own terms. A Wimbledon champion, world No. 1 doubles player, and mother, she has shown that perseverance and authenticity can coexist at the highest level of sport. Her journey inspires others to embrace their own path with confidence.

Congratulations to @martinanavratilova, @yusra.mardini, @tay_taytownsend
