So excited to announce that my dear friend @shinealighton and I have been selected and commissioned to create our new performance-installation piece “Moirai” @edgecutart! Performances are running December 10-12. Tickets via link in bio and more info below! Come by! This is special because it will draw on some explorations that I worked on during my time @eutopia_art_residency in Greece this past summer, as well as many years of collaboration with Carole and her incredible wok! Now we are uniting again to bring some amazingness to NYC (Carole will be flying in from LA)! Yay! #Repost @edgecutart ・・・ Our first season announcement is here, oh yes. Tickets are now on sale for EdgeCut Arts’ fall programming: a spate of experimental short-form performances that bend and break genre altogether, presented in our signature Double Bill format. The works explore movement, sound, language, and emerging technologies—now in our stylish new gallery and space co-op. The artist lineup includes: Nov 12-14 @kmustatea | @sawyeradler Nov 19-21 Paul Pinto | @slowdanger__ Dec 10-12 LBFG | @luisa.muhr + @shinealighton 📍 EdgeCut Arts 603 West 44th St., Floor 2 Hell’s Kitchen, NYC Tickets are available via the link in bio. #nycevents #nycperformer #nycconcerts #nyctheatre

🚨Show Spotlight! @shinealighton - presents - “SQRM” SQRM is a multimedia installation performance. The piece explores the idea of composite presence, liveness on liveness, to visualize anew how we are plural and how we may coexist as translucent temporal multi-limbed beings joined by unified focused intent.   ⏰ Sat 7/11 at 3:00 PM & Sat 7/18 at 3:30 PM 📍 Electric Lodge - Kelman Theater in Venice, CA This performance is part of the second annual Daredevil Arts Festival being held July 11-19 at Electric Lodge and Pacific Resident Theatre. #theatre #performance #venicebeach #abbotkinney #fringefestival

Photos from my collaborative performance with @shinealighton, @_phill_smith_, & @marquis_de_sound that occurred for the @suddensomethingsimprov show that occurred on January 16, 2026 @sunlandsunspace at Shadow Hills, California. The first 11 photos are from Matt J. Perez, while the remaining photos are from @mjpiii01. The performance can be watched on the Sudden Somethings YT channel, and I'll upload a mirror for archiving on my channel as well when I get the chance. Massive thanks to @marcperezmusic & Manuel for inviting me to perform at the festival, to Matt & Manuel for the photos, and to my fellow performers both for giving me grace and for being fun to bounce ideas off of.

The people and projects Carmen Zella name-dropped in this episode deserve their own spotlight. 🔦 Here's a quick rundown of what came up during our conversation on the future of public art with the founder of NOW Art (@nowart_la): 🌊 Luminex: NXT Art's outdoor digital art festival, where buildings become massive screens, and Angelenos literally dance under pixelated waterfalls. Award-winning and genuinely unlike anything else in the city. Pictured: "CHOOSE" by Carole Kim (@shinealighton) at Luminex 2.0 🔊 Attune: A synchronized multi-site light and sound experience linking ten LA neighborhoods in real time. The logistics alone are wild. 📡 Refik Anadol (@refikanadol): Data art pioneer and Carmen's frequent collaborator. His new project, Dataland, a museum built entirely around immersive data art, is coming to LA. Keep your eyes open. 🥽 Nancy Baker Cahill (@nancybakercahill): AR/VR artist who is actively rewriting the relationship between technology and public space. One of the most interesting people working in this area right now. 💡 Blink Cincinnati (@blinkcincinnati): A biennial light festival that generates $205 million for the local economy. Carmen uses it as her go-to proof point that ambitious public art is also smart city planning. Full episode and all the links are at the link in bio (@notrealartworld). #nowart #publicart #artandtech #refikanadol #nancybakercahill #publicartfestival #lightfestival #losangelesartscene
