This year has had huge ups and downs. But don’t they all? This hit as part of my gratitude reflection today. I’m so eternally grateful for my community trusting my vision in the local arts scene. I feel like I’m constantly running from job to job to keep it all juggling, yet that juggle breathed so much life into me. I’m a person that is made to serve others and being able to do that in this capacity - in this political climate… sheeeesh. This spring I coordinated Art Week for our city & designed the new logo, recieved flowers from a still unknown lucha libre - BEWARE OF THE FLOWER LIBRE!, got to enjoy plien air with professor Pyle, put up plaques for a mural trail, pulled the mayor in for a side hug, donated works to Animal Friends, FCMP, and Launch, got roped into drawing a hand in 30 seconds for Max 😅, visited done art besties in TN, got to see shows with good friends, used a teleprompter, helped organize a trans rights mural and got matching tattoos with the organizers by the artist, spoke about building creative communities at Loud Frame film festival while holding a PUPPY, spoke at CO Crestive Industries Summit, finished a mural the lobby of the Elizabeth Hotel, got kisses on my 40th bday which was expertly planned by Sierra & Callie. Suddenly it’s the end of summer and I cant wait to see what lies ahead, the plans hidden between the plans. Birthday resolution: Take moment to savor before running to the next thing. PS: Apologies if IG cropped ya out, it was not kind when I was trying to shift the photos to show everyone.
